I'm sure Leo will chime in later about his car.

It died.

I think it's at the Dealer as we speak.

He called me about 2 hours ago. Car won't turn over, single click coming from the PCM/fuse box area.

He attempted to jump the battery, checked for loose terminal posts, Auto neutral switch, and fuel pump cutoff switch... all no-go.

No dim lights, all accessories seem to be at full power.

Also flashed it back to stock.

It could be as simple as a bad solenoid for the starter.

I just changed the starter on the '89 because when I turned the key I could hear the solenoid click, but it wouldn't turn over. The battery was fully charged and I had all dash lights and accessories.

The solenoid was getting the low current from the key, but wasn't engaging inside properly to send full power from the battery to the starter.

I know it's 17 years apart, but the principle is the same.

I'll bet it turns out to be a bad relay or solenoid that is somewhere between turning the key and the starter turning the engine over.

Well that sucks... Why does this stuff always happen on a Friday afternoon?

On another note... I'm gonna threaten you left coasters with my presence once again.
We've sold a palletizer to Los Angeles and I am the project manager, so there is a good chance that I will be going to do the install. I haven't got the sales order but I would guess maybe early January time frame. Heck, I won't be that far from Bill and Jed at all as I will most likely stay in Carson at a Hampton Inn.

Another 4.0 vert rental? If so, we'll have to take you to my secret proving grounds for a burnout shootout.
I'll be heading out of town on Jan 4-6. So other than those dates, I'll be here.

Sounds like fun! It would depend on what kind of quotes I can get from Hertz... You see, there is Hertz and then there's.... Everybody else who are way cheaper for better cars. So we will see. I didn't even know you took that poor ponies picture! She had been run hard and put up wet. Man did I get sunburned that day driving around LA!

To early to tell but the last time I installed a machine in this plant it was over New Years Eve.

I just checked and the GTH is sold out at that time.... I wonder if they are do to come off the line at that time? But get this... Budget will cost more for a coupe than Hertz will rent a vert fo... Go figure! The Vert from hertz is like $525 for a week and the coupe from budget is $560. ANd Orange County airport is more expensive than LAX... It was the other way last time.

Tom was right it was a bad starter. They replaced the starter and the car's back home now. FYI-The car was running Doug's 91 Race with all my mods and they didn't say a word other than nice car.

BTW- I'll be ordering stripe #3 later this week. I just haven't been able to get an exact price for a new shaker trim ring. Want to see how much that's going run before commiting.

Great news! Technically, it was a bad solenoid. But since the solenoid is part of the starter, they just change the whole thing.

Same exact thing with me on the '89! No improving that over the last 17 years!

Good to hear that it was an easy, warranty fix. That and not a peep about the mods. !!!

Can't wait to see the pics of the #3 stripe.

I'll know for sure tomorrow. Gotta be @ the QM to help get the parking map done and I imagine that I'll know for sure when I am expected to be there.

Next week is gonna be busy.

Right up the street! Know which Lake Buena Vista (Disney) resort you'll be staying at?

The Hooters by me closed down. There are several more wing places to choose from, though.

Yep... I'll show him all around Saint Cloud!

November still IS hurricane season, Brian...
