This should help a bit, they hold the two pieces of the trim ring together.

Unhook the air duct I presume. I might see what happens when I try to open it this evening.
Other not so popular answer; Get a COLD AIR INTAKE.

Thanks! It's crystal now. For some reason I thought the rivets went up and down.

NICE. I have actually contemplated a shifter change (Hurst) because of the 3rd gear shift troubles I have sometimes, usually when trying to shift fast.
Yesterday I had an older Mustang GT (2002 or so) run up on me fast from a Stop Sign like he meant business. So we easy over to the on ramp and I nail it, hit 3rd the best I ever had, sent the **** car sideways a bit but I left the older Mustang wondering why he messed with me even though I did not leave him as fast as I thought I would.

Let me know how it goes. Maybe I'll take the hole up to the full 3" since it doesn't have to be an air-tight connection.

Daryl, you're like a big kid! (btw- I also toyed with an 04 GT after going to In-N-Out Saturday, but didn't pitch it sideways like you!)

I think I go the easy route and get the Saleen Short Throw Shifter, tightens the shift for only $45. Lots of members here have installed it and they all like it.

As a side note, I canx the FRPP cam covers. After looking at the position of the Shaker shroud, too little of the cam covers are visible to justify a set of $365 chrome finished covers.

I'm definately not worried about any air-tight connections either. I'm just going to point that cold air duct opening straight at my K&N cone filter!

This alone will shave at least an hour off my install time.

Think I'll add that to my Future Mod list, but I'll wait to see how you like it. (All you add is the block?)

Good idea... that's half of your Shaker kit. Good thing they were on BO!

Credit given.

I have to watch it too, that's why you see a radar detector on my 'future' list.

I think so.. I've seen other people's write-up on it and it looks fairly easy to install. Some have tighten down some bolt (or not) too hard and experinced some stiffness during shifts. But, when adjusted properly, it'll give short, positive shifts.

Me too! ETA would've been 6/29 to the dealer.
MRT louvers will cost $349 painted plus ? for delivery, so it's a pretty even swap! I haven't ordered them yet, though.

Are you driving like me now? The car can handle it, but watch out for smokey.
Heck I took a ride with my mother-in-law in the car up to 100MPH.

I've been an Escort/Passport user for years, just brand loyal to them. I have read good things about the Valentine 1 though.

I want to get the Cordless Solo S2, just not sure where I want to mount it yet.

I found the thread for the Saleen Short Throw Shifter. All the info about it is in there.

Hi y'all. Checkin' in after three days MIA. You don't have to speed to have fun! I have plenty of fun driving just getting up to speed. Hey, I guess I'm Partner material after all...I found out last week that one of our partners just got his wife a pretty little red mustang GT 'vert with a black top

I'm enjoying watching you guys with your mods. We are dumping all our cash into the house at the moment, but will be calling on you when we're ready to get (back ?) to modding.

Have fun! Tom - can't wait to see your car with shaker installed. Was that guy saying you could have paid less for the spoiler? Oh, and I'm a little late but Tom, I vote black now on the chin spoiler. But I still think your hood will look a little nekkid with the only black being the shaker. (Don't hit me!)

Bill - like the louvers. I was really wondering what the cam cover would look like. Guess I'll never know - but it makes sense that the shaker will cover it.

Daryl - I think you should go for the chin spoiler, painted and striped. No worries. It will look awesome.

You guys are bad with the "lube making it go in and out easier" (Tom), rub spots (Daryl), and Bill's "In N Out" burgers...geez (j/k - I can take it like the best of them)

Worse - in my firm...in the OHIO office! At least we don't have twinkies in the parking lot. And, the car was actually for his wife. BTW, he is eBaying her "old" Cooper Mini 6spd, which he said would beat a mustang (in a race) any day. I haven't done my research...
