Tom- What swayed you from the C/S scoop to the Shaker? Maybe the same reasoning will apply to me too.
Well, I would have spent just over $400 for the C/S scoop (including painting). That's if I got a good price on the scoop. Then I would have had a fake scoop that a bunch of other people have.

For $300 more, I'll have a functional scoop that really turns heads at car shows.

What do I use again on the hood that will remove the Zaino, but won't affect the clear coat?

I got my tape yesterday. I just got some 2" blue because all I could find was 1" green. I'll cover the hood with the blue, then tape the template down with regular masking tape.

You should place the order with them... they may not order until you order.

He said they had 20 Sets on order, and confirmed ship this Friday. I think I will check back with MCD before I place my order. I will call middle of next week.

I should have all day tomorrow off with no interruptions. Should I cut my hole in the hood and then hope the scoop comes soon and is good? Or should I wait until next Wednesday & Thursday.

I can take my time cutting tomorrow, then I just won't be able to drive it much until the new scoop comes.

Bad news from Rob at BSM. When inquiring this morning about when he shipped them out, he simply replied, "according to the usps, they have been delivered."

As of yesterday, I never recived a package from BSM.

What gets me going is that I tell him that I haven't received them yet and he gives me that 1 sentence reply. No ship out date, by what means it was shipped (ie. Priority Mail, etc.), no tracking number, no verification of what shipping address he used... no nothing.

Of course, I e-mailed him back with these SPECIFIC questions. Hope he has more than a 8 word response.

Question is, now what?

Hmm, you are having quite some bad luck with BSM and I, on the other hand, have had excellent service. According to the USPS Tracking e-mail I got, my package should be in the mailbox when I get home.

Did you ever receive an e-mail stating your package had been submitted to USPS or something like that ?
See what his reply is, then if you still get no satisfaction, dispute it with PayPal. They will press him for information to prove the merchandise was shipped to your address.

Sure, Bill has a little problem, so you both just ignore me in post #1247.

Seriously, though, I'm sure they'll straighten it out, Bill...

My opinion? Cut the hole, take your time and do it right, DO NOT permanently install the trim ring though. I thought you were driving the truck for a few days anyway ??

Tom can you do me a favor ? Can you take some good pictures of the under side of the shaker scoop, specifically the Ball Socket area. I can't remember and don't feel like tearing the car apart tonight. ( I need to mow the lawn anyway)

I have been driving the truck, but luckily the tropical storm steered clear of Central Florida. I'll temporarily install the defective scoop to see how it is centered in the engine bay, then cut the hole. And I won't install the trim ring until after I lay it on to see how it lines up.

Sure. I'll take some tomorrow and put'em on my Photobucket.

Stealths and Replacement Stripes hit today. Might get a chance to mess with the stripes tomorrow night. He sent me two sets. A set identical to the first ones I had and another set that is two pieces per side. Which should I try first? I would like them to be one piece, BUT the two piece might be easier to install and a little more adjustable.
Opinions please

Go for the 1 piece. Many have layed it with success before you, so it's definately doable.

Get your blow dryer yet?

Guess what came in the mail today?

As it turned out, my panic was short lived, just some temporary drama. But, all is good now.

Finding the orientation of the stripes is a pain in the butt.

I'm at the stage of doing the centerline thing on the hood and roof. Hood turned out fine, but roof tape is doing a liitle watusi and doesn't look very straight. I'll have to re-lay it out later.

I already wiped her down with alcohol, but it feels a bit slick still. I'll give it a once over just prior to doing each section.

Like Daryl, I temporarily layed down the hood and roof just to get an idea what the finished product will look like. I like it!!

Did CDC mention when the replacement scoop will be shipped out? If you have positive confirmation of no backorder or delay, GO FOR IT!

Like you mentioned, use the damaged scoop for layout purposes and for whatever else you can install/locate with it.

Good luck, Tom.

Yes sir sitting on table unopened. I might attempt the bumper today if the wind dies down a little this evening.

She is gonna look awesome Bill, especially once you install the SHAKER !

BTW why did you find it necessary to remove the Hood Insulation for your stripe install ?
