I think Leo will need some bigger meats out back, maybe some 295's or 310's?

No fires in my area yet (and I do live in the hills), Los Angeles has been spared so far. Lots of smoke from the surrounding areas but it's mostly going out towards the ocean.

+ 1 it's good to hear that you're out of harms way for the moment. Hopefully the Santa Ana's will die down and allow the Fire crews get a leg up

It's always so strange, we rarely get the wind storms that plague the valleys. So there's "less" danger here but always a concern..

So the fires from about 10 or so years ago where a big problem in your area if I remember correctly.... I could be way off though. Still it's good to hear you're in the clear as I think all of the POTR people are. Very scary to see all the carnage all around us.

Non-Stang related...
Are you going to Leopard soon ? I'm planning on being at the apple store Friday after work to pick up a copy of the family pack. I have three and my sis's iMac makes four so it's a good buy.

Glad to hear that Ray, I've been worried for you guys! This is a terrible event I hope all of you are not touched negatively in any way by this.

Hope they get those fires out soon. I know what it's like seeing and smelling the smoke. We had those fires last year in FL and GA.

---------------------

I got the strut tower brace for the '89 today. The bar that goes across between the strut towers actually lays on the spark plug wires. Meaning, it still needs to go lower, but can't because it hits the spark plug wires on the distributor cap first.

I'm not too upset, though. Looking at it laying in place, I don't really like the look.

I'll install the K-Member brace to at least triangulate the K-Member... that'll be something.

An afternoon at Manhattan Beach, CA

I was driving home and I saw this sunset. I realized to many individuals this is a terrible time in SoCal and in no way do I try to make light of that. Prayers to those in need and that recovery is quick. A friend of mine once told me...

With the passing of a beautiful sunset a new sunrise is on the way!

Enjoy!

Jed

I completely forgot about that. It got pretty bad here in Gainesville. We had a fire burning just northeast of us blowing right back into the city. I remember going outside for like a month and it smelled and looked like crap. I'm glad none of you guys are in harm's way. Hope everyone stays safe out there.

Alright, I've run into a couple problems after the D-Spec and spring install. I'll just copy and paste from the thread I just put up. I know you guys would be the best people to ask for tech advice so here goes....

First off, the driver's side upper strut mount is popping over any small bump. Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know how it can be fixed (without getting new USMs from Steeda or J&M)??

Second, there is a really strange sound coming from the drivers side back end. The rear spring makes a horrible noise over any significant bump. Almost like the sound if you run and jump on a bed. The spring is in right side up and shows no signs of being in wrong when I bounce the back end up and down. Going to try and reinstall the spring to see if that works, but if anyone else has any ideas, I would love to hear them.

Nothing can ever go smoothly with my car.

Thanks guys.

Upper strut mount: Pop could be from dislodged ball bearings within the bearing cap.
Noise can also be from the rubber isolator not postioned on the bottom of the coil pedestal correctly.

Rear spring noise: Guessing the bump stops? Leo and Tom can tell you more on how it sounds when the stop hits the frame.

Kyle sorry to hear your d-spec/spring install didn't go as you'd liked. I'm sure Tom, Bill and the other more tech savy guys will steer you in the right direction.
