Daryl, sorry to hear about the car.

Legally, I believe that once the insurance company totals the car, they own it. SO..., I would run and get those parts!! (I'm not sure if that's even legal though)

Or, you can ask what the buy-out is, and then buy it and part it out.

Also, you may be able to get reimbursed a little bit for the parts, but it depends on the insurance agency and your relationship with them. (technically, they weren't insuring the mods, they were insuring the car itself and for the price of the car, not the car+mods)

It's just one of those things that sucks about modding cars.

That sounds like a PITA. Maybe, if it's not his DD, but it is.

Car's at your friend's bodyshop, right? Go stealth and rip out your mods.

My understanding is that you can get your mod's back.

My Friday afternoon event. PICS

I was getting on the Interstate to go grab some lunch. The people on the On-Ramp came to a complete STOP.

So to avoid them, I saw an opening, accelerated, merged to the middle lane and the *** end came out from underneath it.

I controlled the car well enough to not hit anyone else on the Interstate but me and the retaining wall became real close friends.
Daryl, I am really sorry to hear/see what happened. Finally got the time to look at everything. It's good hear that you are safe & sound though. I hope you're able to get plenty from the Ins Co to get you something else and soon!!! and I hope it's another Mustang.

Still trying to catch up on the thread. If it were me and they were going to total it out, I'd want it totaled. especially hearing about problems with the frame... once that's whacked out it'll never be right and you'd be paranoid, IMO.

Again really sorry to hear this.

Thanks. I'll fix that tomorrow. I need some sort of frame. Might just go with a black pep boys special.

Frame might cover the 'Veteran', looks good frameless.

Leave your avatar, it looks good!

Right this second, he owns the car.
As long as you return it to stock, you can take whatever you want out of it.
It is still your car.
No stealth needed.
Sorry to hear about your the car.
It sounds like something that would happen to me.

If you cannot get your mod's returned then you should be able just to give them every reciept and be paid for all of them then ! wanna bet they won't get sold off.

Wow Daryl, that sucks... Its good to hear your ok. And as far as the mods on your car until its actually declared a total loss I think your ok to remove whats yours. But I think as soon as the insurance declares it a total loss the mods are theres.

My friend wrecked his car bad enough to have it "totaled" and he had just purchased new tires and they had to stay on the car.

So I decided to go with the MAC L/T and O/R Prochamber system vs the OBX L/T and O/R H. This is based off pure sound and not brand pref. I just fell in love with how the prochamber sounds vs just the O/R H pipe.

Hopefully I'll have those bought within the month? I'll have till then to decide whether I want to install them or have them installed. I got qouted $400 from a very good Custom Mustang shop in the area. We'll see

Pic would've been perfect if not for the bug poop on the scoop, stripe and paint.

Hey Brian, I'll try to snap some pics of how the tires sit in relation to the fender tomorrow. They don't stick out past the fender line though. I made sure to look.
