Bill-All I said was I like the shroud. I like the fact it doesn't cover up the engine as much plus it looks like Shaker's on the real Mach1's. If they switched to the normal shaker scoop it would look alot better and probably sell. With that said I hope alot of Socal guys go ahead and buy these.
OMG! Can you say 'CDC knock-Off'?

I personally like our CDC shrouds. If it were like those pictured (or even like the Saleen/PJ), I'd be forced into spiffying up more of the engine bay by getting the FRPP camcovers... and them some!

Bill did you cry upon seeing that engine bay. WTF?? Even mine here in the dustbowl of America doesn't look that bad.
Daryl's showing his age... Watched a few of the Giant Robot episodes, huh?

That engine bay made me laugh more than anything. What were they thinking using that shot in an advertisement?

WTF is Steve???? I'm wondering if he's planning on going down to Knott's this weekend.
I'm leaning towards the CDC. Being that it's at least 100 bucks cheaper is a big help and it'd probably be less to paint.

And those mods.. WTF. Again, it proves my theory that you can't buy taste.

Only postive is that the shroud or lack there of looks better than CDC's shroud.
WOW... I didn't know Toys-R-Us sold Mustang parts!

He won't change his mind... he'll buy 20 shifters if he has to, to find one he likes.

I deserve that. However my current situation wasn't anything I could really control with the exhaust(MFlow). I knew that unless they were hands down the best thing I've ever heard I'd go back to the Stingers. Plus I didn't have to put the stock stuff back on, that was worth it for me.

When I get around to replacing the Hurst that'll be it. I swear. I bought the Hurst more for looks than performance 'cause against the grain I do agree with Tom about the stock shifter.

The MGW, I hate to say it but for the 10 seconds that I used it, it was pretty nice. The springs seem a little heavy but still not bad and I could keep the Hurst ball for looks. Besides the Hurst is waay too notchy and it's been like that since day one. I've been trying to just ignore it and deal with it, but if I want to be able to quickly shift the Hurst doesn't cut it for me.

matko Yeah there are better, but IMO none other than the stock look better. For the price you can't beat it.

Exclamation

Ok guys and gals I need your help. Can anyone tell me what year this Ranchero is. I've done research and can't figure it out.

It was my sister's car and she passed away a few years ago. I had the police run the vin and they couldn't find any trace of the car in their system. I'm trying to get rid of the car but legally I have to jump through so many hoops. If you know of anybody that may want the car for parts only let me know. Must get rid of within 30 days. Thanks.

Ray

From another post,
I love the Hurst (stock bushings at both ends removes quite a bit of the notchiness due to the urethane bushings).

I've read that the stock shifter doesn't have any notchiness at all to it.

If you don't mind rowing a boat.

What's your take on the Saleen short throw shift block for around $40?
You can retain your stock shifter and just shorten the throws about 25%.

Personally, I'm very pleased with the Saleen adapter. I don't think you can beat it considering the price. It's kind of hard to explain, especially since I've gotten used to it (I've had it for 1.5 years now). But, it does shorten the throws, yet retains the same nice, smooth feel as the stock shifter.

If you want something that is cheap, yet is better than stock, this is what you should get. From what TacoBill says, it's nothing compared to the new MGW shifter...however, at the same time, it costs almost nothing compared to the MGW shifter.

So, I'm actually going to keep my Saleen adapter. I was considering the MGW...I know their quality is top notch, and I'm sure it's a good shifter. But, at the end of the day, I can keep what I'm happy with, and save the $300.
