WHATS FOR DINNER?
Nah man. We buy from Costco like a 3lb bag of organic frozen prepared green beans. If you boil them from frozen to cooked, yes they are a lil rubbery. If you pan cook from frozen their pretty decent. But grilled either in a basket small enough where they won't fall out, or on some foil with a lil oil or even butter and they're awesome. Just don't thaw them first. Oh and we buy organic becaus that's all they have there lol.
I cook most everything on the grill from beans, corn, potatoes, etc to scallops & fish/shrimp, white meats, red meats, even rice lol.

Try my Rosemary Reds: look for fairly large and flat red potatoes, and slice in half long ways so you have two long but thinner halves. Drop about a nickel to quarter size of olive oil on the face and rub even with your finger. Sprinkle whole (dried) rosemary. I grill skin side down over medium part of the charcoal for 8 mins or so, then face down for about 8 mins (they'll be slightly browned but not burned), then back to skin side down over indirect heat on the side while you're finishing your other items. Usually another 10 mins and they're done similar to a baker. Drop some butter on them, dash of salt according to taste, and serve. I always have some left over for country style potatoes for breakfast. The rosemary makes them great.

I'll have to try those! And what about the boiled corn, care to explain?
Speaking of potatoes and breakfast try this sometime:
Fry up some bacon but for not quite as long as you normally would. Cut up 6 or so redskins into quarters. Slice up a half onion, maybe some peppers too if you want.
Place everything including the bacon onto an oiled sheet of foil, then sprinkle a packet of onion soup mix, and salt and pepper on top of everything. Add your rosemary here if you want lol. Then oil up another sheet of foil and place on top of everything and roll the edges of both sheets together to make it into a sealed packet.
Place the packet on the grill over medium heat for about 20 minutes, flipping over once about 10 minutes in... then serve with your egg of choice. I have tried an egg on a hot plate on the grill before but prefer just to do it stovetop.
This is not a recipe for just one person lol it will feed two or three.

Par boiling? Just a quick boil. Get the water to a good boil, drop the (fresh) ears of corn in, and pull at 5 mins. 5 mins only.
Add butter etc. and serve immediately. Corn is done and not mushy.I've tried frozen veggies a number of times because they're supposed to have more retained nutrients, but they are always rubbery or mushy.
The only frozen I like is peas. 5 mins. 5 mins only Vasili.

Nothing.
Somebody would ***** about everything I suggested, so I told them to get their own damned supper. After the day I've had, I didn't have much of an appetite anyway. So a bag of M&Ms, some peanuts and a Little Debbie will hold me over until tomorrow.
