Doesn't matter what the press or the media is saying (or not saying) about you. You've gotta have some serious skills and talent for "THE man" to sit in with you and record a song. That is music royalty, George even asked them (BBS) to play at his 80th birthday party.

My grandmother was probably one of the biggest GJ fans ever. I went with her and her husband to see him in the 70s when I was just a little guy, it was great. She went to see him many times, even times when he didn't show up, lol. She still has shirts that says "I saw No Show Jones" from back when he was too drunk to perform and was famous for not showing up for shows.

Yeah, it was, I'll always treasure that memory. I also saw Alabama with her and him in a little outdoor theater before they became superstars back in the day. Love those guys, still go to this day. IMO, they were what made country groups what the are today, they were without a doubt the first country Super stars and paved the way for groups going forward. TBP wouldn't be **** if Alabama hadn't pioneers the country group genre that crossed over into pop/rock venues.
I don't know if you've ever listened to much Alabama being your age, but they had some fantastic music. And they're from a little town close to me and a lot of our members (Scott, Paul, Willie, etc.) They have a Museum in Ft. Payne Al. that is marked on the highways by State exit signs. Sadly, I've never been there even though its right nearby and I drive past it every time I go to the coast. I need to ride over there one day just to take some pics for you.
