Back when rap was good stuff, not a bunch of thug **** about pimping hoes, selling crack, robbing stores, killing whitey, and all of the other stuff that its about now that people worship, including our leaders in government.

Great song. If you go past the catchy tunes and listen to their songs, there is some really great stuff in their catalog as far as writing goes. Pure poetry.

Probably pissing in the wind by writing that because most people wont pick up on it. (Except for Scott, he might).

How in the hell is Diana Ross your childhood? You're a 90s baby. Diana was rocking it out in the 60's with the Supremes (got some of those albums still around at my parent's house)

Stuff like this.

That song is from the late 80s/early 90s though. It's from a movie.

I love this song so much. Everything about it, the writing, the orchestra, everything. It touches me on so many levels, has so much meaning to me, even if it is what I interpret from the lyrics to apply to my own thoughts. Isn't that what a makes a great song? Such a great band.

Am I totally wrong about that Scott? Opinions welcome.

WOW! I saw this cover while looking for this song and happened to watch it. This kid is really good.

I love that line "Now I cry my soul to sleep".

I'd go out on a limb and say I've got the most diverse collection of music of anyone in this entire thread. Anyone wish to challenge that?

Well I would have to argue with you both there! :-)

nope, CS is one of those bands that writes from the heart, makes great music and listening to those songs, you can read into them so much more than whats at face value and apply to your own life. Not wrong at all sir.

Hum, I didnt go through all 400+ pages, but I'll throw myself in to the mix, looks like it was a lot of classic rock, alternative, metal ( those are what I mostly listen too), and I saw some country, some hiphop or rap.

You guys listen to 2 live crew. Cant list too many songs as it would go against forum rules .

I didnt really notice any music in the following categories from you guys, and you say you have a wide variety of tastes...
  • Blues
  • Classical
  • Christian
  • Folk
  • Jazz
  • Easy listening

Check this kid out. He plays guitar, bass, and drums, writes his own music, and I think he does his own videos. He has his own band now. He's good.
