Since we seem to be having a debate about iPhone vs Droid, I figured this might help a little. I have a 3GS at the moment, however I doubt I will get another iPhone. Apples little closed loop isn't something I'm interested in dealing with.

Get over it. He was supposedly a total db anyways. Monkeys die... I'm sure his life was better than most. BTW I live for the shock factor of saying things most won't. Peace

Get over it? The guy just died yesterday and you have no sympathy whatsoever. Do you know him personally to call him a DB? or are you just hating on his accomplishments? Yeah I'm sure he lived a great life but he changed technology for the entire world.

You indeed "claimed" to call him a DB so if you obviously didn't feel that way you wouldn't of said anything about that.
Your attempt of a joke is completely immature and inappropriate at a time when someone dies. Yeah people die everyday it's apart of life but you don't "make a crack" when someone dies. I don't have to know the guy to show compassion for someone that introduced "the iphone - 4s" and stand up for a guy of your nature.

ANYWAYS... Does anyone intend to buy the new iPhone 4s? Don't think the benefits are worth it to me. I'll be the first in line when they drop 4g and maybe a larger (more encompassing of the space on the phone) screen. A better processor is all well and good, but I can't justify spending the money for just that and 1080. When should the 5 drop? Next summer?

Wow... I'm not even gonna give him the time of day. He was a great guy and built a business as large as the oil companies.
It was a good comparison between the two. I think the advantage that other manufacturers have over Apple is that they release new phones quite often vs Apple's typical 12 month product cycle. Which does help Apple in a way because they need to introduce a phone that CAN compete for 12-15 months.
I mean most phones require two year contracts now a days, so why not get something that can compete for more than a few months?

I would hope the new one comes out summer 2012. But its hard to guess until we see a pattern.
The new MBP always come out in april, this past year they followed that. So perhaps they changed the iPhone/iPod cycle without moving the others.

If I had the money, I would upgrade my iPhone 4 (since I got it when it came to verizon last spring) but I don't. I'm not gonna get bent out of shape about it. I'll wait for the iPhone 5, which will be a complete redesign and not a refresh like the 4S
