I gave my wife my iPhone3 when I got a 4. Unfortunately our 2 year old grandson can use it better than the wife. For that matter, so can the cat. I've known people with it. It was pretty fast. Especially since it was the first TRUE 4G phone. But I was told it was lucky to get about 6-7 hours life, even with wifi and Bluetooth off.

Apple would NEVER release something with that dismal battery life. They'll wait until they can do a proper job.

I've had my 3GS since August of 2009. I've been waiting through the 4 for the next phone. My battery barely keeps a charge anymore but I refuse to upgrade till the 5 comes out.

Battery life is one thing, but I'm always near a charger and when I'm not I carry a spare battery. Most annoying is the gps never works and pictures disappear. Have to reboot it when that happens. I have one from the 1st batch and I'm told an update is due soon which should fix it. Don't get me wrong, this phone is awesome in many other ways, just kinda a let down at times.
