Top Gear is back!
Sadly, looks like the American version of the show with them hosting is a bust!
An American version of Top Gear has hit the skids — because Jeremy Clarkson has refused to live in the US.
BBC chiefs were set to sign a multi-million dollar contract with an American channel to make a Stateside show this year.
“[…] because it takes a long time to film the show it meant the crew and presenters would have had to live out there for several months.
“Jeremy didn’t want to do that because his life and family are in Britain, so it’s been shelved.â€

I'd say there's more to the story than that. No way the BBC would have gotten that far along in discussing a multi-million dollar deal with a U.S. broadcaster without firsting having checked to see whether or not Clarkson felt like living in the States a few months out of the year.
It's kind of a no-brainer to check with your hosts about stuff like that first, before entering into business negotiations.
Much more likely that he wanted too much money.

Definitely a great commerical for the robustness of Toyota Hilux trucks, for those who argue Toyotas are crap. The results speak for themselves.
Man. I only got half way through that episode and turned it off. While I laughed at many parts of it I began to feel like they were really stretching out the shots to get a whole hour of programming. Started to feel like a chore to watch it. Definitely not typical Top Gear programming in my opinion. Hopefully I'll feel like watching the rest of it soon.
Told you didn't I?
Shatter, I think that part of the appeal of top gear (to me anyway), is the artiness of the shooting. They have some incredibly talented cameramen, editors and producers. It is good to see them at their best.
I did like the "Bumper Dumper", especially when Clarkson drove off with May "on the throne"

It was a specialty truck. You could do the EXACT same on an F150!!
That truck was specially built for the conditions it was facing. You really think you can get that truck in any dealer in the UK, or abroad? COME ON! I mean really, $2,500 per tire? I'm sure that's a factory option.

It was a specialty truck. You could do the EXACT same on an F150!!I never said ANYTHING negative about Ford (or any other brand, for that matter). I simply said the arctic challenge was a testament to the robustness of the Hilux. Your hatred of all things Toyota is apparently so trenchant that it's blinding you to the simple reality of the situation...and my simple statement, for that matter.
