Top Gear is back!
eh. murc's are cool (Tony Stewart even has one) but for the most part to me...... if i wanted an audi,
i would buy an audi. and no it wouldnt be an R8. the new s5 is really cool looking. and i will in a few years probably buy an mkV GTI

Clarkson bought the Gauardo (spl) not the Murc..I think the Murc is a styling dumping ground personally..the Baby lambo is a far nicer and taught car IMO.
my main problem with the gallardo is that its a lamborghini
and it doesnt have lamobrghini doors, and besides that, the dumb all wheel drive system, and standard audi lack of steering feel.
other than that its a fine car. however as i said i would prefer many other cheaper cars to it

yeah I hear you..but for me most of that is what I wanted in a lambo all this time...as a matter of fact I generally spurned lambos till the Murc came out then when the Gallardo hit I fel in love...yeah it's more audi than lambo and probably isn't as hairy chested but that's ok for me. It's closer to an aston than a lambo in that repsct and I can accept that. But hey man I can sure as heck see your point and agree to a point
How about just as a styling exercise (doors not withstanding)? I think she's a beauty

At least now with Audi owning them now, the cars are becoming more reliable, and have WAY better build quality. In an old episode of Top Gear, the Lambo special, James May loved the Countach growing up, but once he got in one, he couldn't wait to get out of it. He hated the car, and it crushed him to say it. About the AWD, its okay I guess. It gives it an advantage over the other brands. It also makes the car more stable. The interior looks great, but they are doing what Ford has done for years in regards to an item inside the car: use the same corporate radios that are in their Audis as what is in the Lambos. They should have done something better there.
The whole scissor doors, I don't have a problem with them not being on the Gallardo. To get them, you should have to purchase the high end car. You don't get a supercharger from the factory, on the standard GT Mustang, you have to get the Shelby to do so. The Enzo has the bi-heidral doors (its their king exotic) but the others don't have them. All in all, give me a Gallardo Spyder, in that Lime Green color, and I'll be perfectly content with its AWD and standard doors, and 520 hp V10.

Well said jeff....I think for me what strikes me about the Gallardo Spyder is the amazing roof. It's such a great look. It would make a fantastick hard top also.
I mean come on!

I can't blame Clarkson for trading the GT for the Spyder. Lets face it, the Stuck Rides incident displayed how hard it is to manage a GT in Europe, and the thing goes through gas like China. Here in the US with cheaper gas and more open roads, you can treat it right. But in the UK, the more compact, tossable, and urban-friendly Gallardo's better suited.
If I had Clarkson's budget and lived over there, I'd definitely get the Gallardo over a Porsche, Ferrari, or other such nonsense. Of course, I'd really rather have a V8 Vantage, espcially since it's cheaper (could buy a V8 and a Shelby at the Gallardo's price)

Does anyone have episodes of Top Gear when Jeremy comes to the US to test US best vs Euro best? It was called The Good The Bad And The Ugly.
They used to be on youtube, but they were removed.

Tog Gear could be U.S. bound with British hosts

That would be quite interesting I am afraid they will ahve to make it too PC if its made for the US.. which might make it lose a lot of flavor.
About Bloody time.
I find some of the comments on Autoblog pretty absurd. People have no capacity for satire anymore, their complaining about TG's "offensive" episode is way over the top. And the remarks about American cars are pretty silly: they don't concentrate purely on British cars at home, they talk about all sorts of cars available (and some not) to them in the UK. They would do the same here.

This would be GREAT!
I'm assuming they will spend the months they're NOT shooting the UK series, shooting the US version Stateside.
God these guys are gonna be tired...not to mention filthy, stinking rich.
I don't really know how much better it would be, don't get me wrong, it would probably still be good. There's just not really that many American cars that I am dying for them to test. They drive most American cars that might be worth seeing. I think they still haven't had the Saleen S7, but I could be wrong. What other cars would be nice to see? I'm sure there is more than just that.
