opps Sorry I forgot you got rid of your fast Mustang and your driving a Beemer, so I guess it is 4 hour drive ( only 2 hours in a fast mustang)

I haven't decided whether to take the job or not because Ohio makes you have a front mounted license plate, which I think are ugly LOL.....

Well that's hard to argue with. Now you know why I mounted mine "behind" the Roush front fascia in the big center air hole. No troubles with the law in almost 2 yearsI guess because the laser gun can still hit it.

Not sure about the Cleveland area. My area did it for over 25 years but shut it down about 5 years ago because they said it had no benefit on air quality. I think Cinncinnati does still do it. So my answer is yes and no. Depends on what county your in. Google it.

****..... yep Cleveland and it's surrounding counties are the ONLY area in Ohio that does.....

VEHICLES THAT REQUIRE AN EMISSIONS TEST
A vehicle requires an emissions test when:

It is gasoline or diesel-fueled and has a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) equal to or less than 10,000 pounds
It is 25 years old or newer from the current testing year
It is registered in an E-Check county (Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, or Summit counties)

Well that means the factory midpipe would have to go back on the Mach and I'd have to buy a catted pipe for my '92. Wonder if I could write this stuff off as a business expense LOL.

Sorry....I knew it was a county by county thing in this state. It doesn't do any good for the air quality they have proved that. It's just a way of collecting $20 every two years per car. It came up for a general vote in my county about 5 years ago and you can guess how that went!! Also if your new position is close to the lake shore up there....they get huge lake effect snows...could be fun or a bummer.

I always hated that fact about Texas too (Don't get me wrong, I love Texas and really enjoyed living there, just not a fan of the front license plate deal). Fortunately, we don't have that here in Michigan. If you have to, you could always get one of the license plate holders that bolt on underneath, so that you don't have to drill into the front fascia.

I've been to Cleveland once or twice, seemed like a decent city. Of course, moving is always a big decision. Best of luck in whatever you choose to do.
