Yeah, I'll see what I can do. It would be cool to have a big Mustang turn out!

No kidding, Tread. Falchion get lost in the big, black machine of Lockheed?

And ditto getting your friend on TMS. Hopefully, we can have another gathering of the TMS'rs, and a bigger crowd.

Well, we had a guy try to hang himself last night! Luckily or unluckily for him, his wife cut him down from the tree before it killed him. Crazy stuff. This is the first time in 11yrs I've actually seen someone try to hang themself. Guess he never thought about the whole giraffe neck thing that happens when you hang yourself and no one finds you for a while.

Now you charge him for attempted suicide? WTH is wrong with people. Morons.

Oh, our Crime Watch was a big success. Officer Owens and Lt. Sparrow showed up, followed by Officer Grigsby. About 80% of the street showed up. Was a good time. If you ever run into Owens, ask him how many bass he's arrested today (he had a fishing pole in his squad car trunk when he was showing it off to the kids).

I was unimpressed with the motor on the patrol vehicles. Ford's 4.6L and they say it tops out at 130mph. And even more jading was he said the hi-speeds (Camaro's) don't like to go over 100mph 'cause it gets all wobbly? I'm thinking I might have a chance in our Mustangs....just gotta jam the radios somehow...

That guy was transported to JPS 10th floor(Psych Ward).
I told ya these patrol cars are slow. I haven't tried out the top speed on the new ones but the last few years you were doing good if you hit 125mph or so. I haven't driven the Camaro and probably never will since you have to be assigned to Traffic Division and take a special class for it. I can tell you it will go well over a hundred mph or they wouldn't have them. If it wobbles at 100mph then something is broke.

Well, they either have the LS1 or LS2 in them, so they ought to go well over 100mph. I just find it sad...or lacking...that a car capable of higher speeds, that the department paid for, the drivers won't go that fast 'cause the car gets uncontrollable.

For what I understand, that's why DPS got away from the 5.0 Mustangs. At high speed, the car actually weighed less (lift due to speed) and car got really unstable, so they switched to the Camaros 'cause they supposedly over came the unstable issues of the Mustangs.

Do you remember the Officer's name that said that? It sounds like a load of B.S. to me. If I run into one of the traffic guys I'll ask about it. Usually if something is such a safety hazard it spreads pretty quick. I've heard nothing about it and I work in the same building as Traffic.

Anyone know a good store to buy headlights and stuff? I'm thinking about upgrading my headlights and fog lights.

That would be cool! Unfortunately I don't have any money, courtesy of my ex-wife, to spend on something like that. One of my fog lights went out the other night so I have to replace it. There's a thread in the EXT. mods section about some new SilverStar fog lights that came out on the 4th. I'm thinking about getting those and some Xtra Vision headlights if I can find them.

It was Owens that said it.

Buddy of mine at work (who has a V6) got some bulbs from here:
http://www.texonstore.com/servlet/StoreFront

They're pretty nice. Nice blue/white light from the headlights. He says they are awesome at night.

Our part number is H13 9008

I wouldn't mind mod'ing my car either, with a CAI or whatever, for some extra HP. I gots to spend that kinda cash more so on family things though. At least I have the car.

OK, I personally don't if he's ever been in traffic div or not but, I still think it's b.s.

I changed out all my lights yesterday. What a PITA!! The right headlight is the only one that's easily reached. I put XtraVision Halogens(20%) brighter headlights and SilverStar 9145's in for fogs. The SilverStars are fantastic. Nice bright white light. Not a whole of difference with the XtraVision lights though. Might try that link you sent for headlights later. I wish I would of seen it or found it earlier. Thanks though.

P.S. Anyone see in the news about the 15yr old that was run over by the wrecker? That was gruesome. I was out there for a while but, then I had to sit at the hospital with the wrecker driver for about 3hrs until a traffic investigator could talk to him.

No!

Only news I caught last night was the idiot mother who thought she could be a train (had to go around the cross guards as well). She lost. The father and 11 month old are fighting for their life in a hospital right now.

Nothing about your wrecker wreck.

Edit: Found it

Ugh! Did they just run in front of the wrecker or was he changing radio stations?

They just ran right out in front of him. The first one ran across so he got on the brakes a little to make sure he got across. When he was clear the driver looked back in front and there is the second one right in front of the wrecker. Slammed on the brakes, which locked up, and basically rolled him over and dragged him. Hit two streetlights, two curbs, a brick pillar and a parked car which was pushed into a building before stopping.

The wrecker's driver, whose identity was unavailable Sunday, was not believed to have been intoxicated, Davis said. Part of the investigation will focus on possible brake failure, Davis said.
 Brake failure? Sounds like kid brain failure, based on what you said Tread. Luv it...always gotta blame the driver or the vehicle so somebody can sue someone. Lets not consider the kids didn't look both ways.

Tragic, yes. I really don't like kids dying, but lets give them some responsibility in it too.
*shudder* of thought of tire locking up on top of kid and then getting dragged... *brrrr*

Nice info on your new lights. When I'm ready to change, I'll keep those fogs in mind. I assume its just plug-n-play right? No having to readjust the lights?

Yeah, it was 100% the kids fault eventhough the brakes weren't working properly. He wasn't the angel the Star-Telegram made him out to be but, it's too bad he had to pay for his stupidity with his life.

The fog lights just plug in after you take the grill apart. They seem to shine in the same pattern as before so I didn't try to adjust them. I didn't even look to see if they are adjustable though. I wasn't expecting to have to disassemble the grill so I was short on time.

I ordered a AEM Cold Air Intake today! They have a new type of air filter that doesn't need oil. Cost $241.95 shipping included!

Some of the guys on the forums have them on their V6 Mustangs. They have them for GT's too, but it costs more. $290 instead of $241.95. Not sure why?

They're supposed to give you better power and mileage. So, it might pay for itself! Most excellent!

Hey guys,
I just wanted to let y'all know I'll off the site for a week or so. My Dad passed away last Friday unexpectedly. We are going to send him home to Georgia to be buried with his Mother and other siblings who have died already. We will probably be leaving town on Tuesday so I will check in before I leave if I have time. Talk to y'all later.

P.S. Falchion, that intake looks pretty cool. Let us know if you get one.

Well, I got my AEM cold air kit and put it on today!

It was pretty easy, just make sure you have some metric tools!

The car does seem to acclerate faster, and sound a little meaner. It's too early to tell about gas mileage yet. I'll let you guys know later on that.....

Augh, I hate to hear that, Treadhead. I'll add you and your family to my prayers while you get through this.

Falchion, the AEM intake looks very nice. I had planned so many mods before the car arrived, and now I'm finding myself timid about doing anything at all. Well, I am just about fed up with the stock shifter, since it is poop for 3rd gear. I've embarassed myself more times than I care to think about, because of it. I'm debating between the B&M and Hurst at the moment, but I think B&M is leading at the moment after MLFD's recent review on the install and performance.
