Getting off work and putting the top down and feeling the stress of the day melt away is priceless to me. I faced the same decision and went with a Red fire V-6 w/ pony package. I have had no regrets

Everybody keeps mentioning the cost of insurance & gas of the GT. I'm 53 years old, but I didn't think the insurance was to bad! it is less than my Jeep! Isn't it also a big insurance bump to insure a convertible?

I am amazed at the fuel mileage my GT gets. It's not cheap to run but I can remember the days that 3oohp was good to get 8 mpg & 6 if you got on it!

Cages are fun; esp. the 06 GTā€¦ Yes, maybe even a vert V6... But they can't hold a candle to the joy, openness, freedom and ultimately the sense of power and control that a motorcycle provides....

Ride a motorcycle... The ultimate in topless funā€¦

I'd go with the 'vert. The GT power is nice, but honestly the V6 has plenty for anything sane and/or legal on public roads (and even a bit that isn't...)

When I was buying my budget allowed for a GT hardtop, or a V6 convertible. I went with the 'vert, and haven't regretted it for a millisecond

Dropping the top on a sunny day and just cruising is the best stress reducer I know

You don't need me to tell you this is hard, but I love all Mustangs; GT or not. If your crave for a drop top is greater then your need for speed then go for it. I will say that I had a choice between a pretty bare GT or my loaded V6 and I went and ordered the V6, it goes fast enough for me and still has a kick to it when you want to step on it, just not the led boot kick the GT has, but lower payments are always good, so is lower insurance and convertibles are just plain fun. I would choose the V6 given those conditions but thats me.

Any car that can do a u-turn using your foot instead of your hands is definately not a chick car.

Just because there is a more powerful and less powerful version of a car does not mean the lesser powered one is the chick car.

Originally I had planned to get a V-8 vert, but no one would honor z-plan on the GT and had even raised the prices over sticker. The price difference between my V6 and the GT that I wanted would have been almost $12,000.

After 8 months with my car, I have no regrets at all. $12,000 buys a lot of mods.

I'd keep the GT.

I still don't know where some people get off sayign the V6 is a "chicks" car. Pretty arrogant if you ask me. You wouldn't call a 5,0 a chicks car, yet a car that can be as fast as MOST of them is a chicks car because its only a V6.

the V6 is a chicks car....

First, the insurance savings on a GT vs a V6 Vert won't be that great at all...

Second, I agree with those that say you'll notice the difference. it'll be hard to go back.
