Wow, not hating on the v6 guys by calling their cars a pusstang? Give me a break.

My dilemma was similar, stripped down GT or a vert v6. I went for the vert. Many reasons why: lower insurance, lower car payments, but that was a minor factor, and also the vert came with everything I wanted, if I got the GT I wouldn't have been able to get all the options I got. Plus the best feeling in the world is when I look over at my friend in the passenger seat and they are smiling b/c its the first time they have rode in a vert. However, the extra power would be nice but I never go to the track and I figured I would do something stupid with it and ruin the rest of my life.

Not hatin on the seahawks fans, but I hope the Steelers and the Bus beat the heehawks in the SuperBowl.

O.K. not the best choice of words on my behalf. I apologize if I offended anyone. I just don't understang why one would downgrade performance in a sports car? That just dosen't register in my head.

The insurance is a whole lot cheaper on a V-6. Keep the GT though......'05 model and where this trip down memory lane started.

I like the drop top option, but there's **NO WAY** I'd swap my GT for a V6. For me 1/2 the fun is the way it drives and 1/2 is the way it looks. Your GT isn't a vert, but it still looks EXCELLENT and drives waaay more fun.
Don't do it, you'll miss the GT, especially when you see them driving down the road past you...

honestly im not bashing v6's but they r just missing something with the unpainted rocker panels and the rear of the v6 is just soo plain u can see the whole underside of the car....the pony package will do wonders but i think u have to make sure ur making the right choice....ull miss the GT....and i agree with a post above....u will have to pry the keys of my GT outta my hand....i dont know how i could ever give them up

That's the one thing that turned me off on the V-6...... I thought the lower fascia should have been on the V-6 just like is on the GT.

V6 is a choice for those that don't care for performance and just care about looks only...... Even with the drop top.. the GT wins hands down IMHO.... BTW.. I traded my 03 Zinc Yellow GT premium vert for 05 GT premium coupe.... And I have not a single regret... Not even on nice days.... nnnyaah.... that's no regrets... and my parting shot; let me leave you this thought:

GT = Guy Car (Bullet, Apocolypse Now, Blues Brothers, Full Metal Jacket, etc...)

V6 = Chick Car (Pretty Woman, Driving Miss Daisy, Working Girl, etc...)

since you are a service mgr, you'll prolly have a ton of opportunities to get a new GT with the options you want. be patient or you might regret it. A-PLAN is awesome!!
P.S. To all the v6 bashers out there, remember there are a lot of members that have them and the mods on here will let you know about it :cop: :cop2:

I have only had mine for 4 days but I do know that there is no way I would be giving up my GT. I doubt very much that I NEED the full power potential that it has but it is sure nice to have. It is just so INSTANT!!!!! And...................the way it sounds when I start it up.................that GROWL........................I absolutely love it. I am going to have a hard time handing the keys over to my husband when he wants to take it for a drive.

Ok, I am going to buck the trend here. GO WITH THE VERT! Well, actually you should go with a GT vert. If, as you say, money is not an issue, then get yourself a GT drop-top. It is definitly the best of both worlds. That said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a V6 Mustang. Don't let those that call the V6 a "pusstang" or a "chick car" get under your skin. I have the same 4.0L engine in my Sport Trac, and when I need power, it provides it. I can imagine it would do even better in the lighter Mustang. My .02

I rented a V6 a couple months ago and its no "puss-stang". Try doing a uturn and punching the gas! They don't have as much power as a CURRENT GT but they are the highest powered 6 yet! A friend of mine has a 95 Cobra and I believe those only push out 240 hp (?). And the 6 you want is a convertible? Come on! With better options? What have you go to lose? You'll have better insurance rates, lower payments and still be behind a Stang. I'd take it any day.
