I had trouble getting a vin at first. My dealer ended up having to call them because the computer wouldn't print the whole thing out...
This could be similar. My car is at blend right now and I have a sticker. 8/27/07 was the blend date...

 

Aight my sales rep calls me up today and tells me that my car is on a material hold. Seems like the new painted fanblades are the problem. Anyone else heard of this??

 

Speed, the only issues with the 18" wheels is commodities. Ford will only allow a small percentage of GT's ordered to have these. If you were to remove the wheels from the order, the car would get serialized alot quicker. I for one have not heard a thing about any material hold.

 

Thanks Jeff. Well he said they're going to contact the district rep to see if they can call in a favor to have this ordered pulled by the end of the week. Keeping my fingers crossed. I'd rather wait to get the painted fanblades, I'm in no particular rush for this order, but the anticipation is killing me.

 

Know exactly how you feel.. I'm going on the 3rd week waiting on the DORA. Heading down to the dealership tonight to see if I can 'speed' things up a bit.

I feel for you guys. After what we went through in November 2004 thru May of 2005, i just wouldn't order one. We looked for what we wanted 3 years later and found just what we were hoping for. Ordering would be great if the wait wasn't so excrutiating.

 

Finally get a call from the dealer that they received my DORA yesterday. So I head over there on my lunch, but I was in a rush (meeting GF for lunch) so I just ran in, grabbed the envelope, and split... I just got back from lunch and it's not the DORA!!! ..it's the VOC!!! Does this mean they didn't even place my order until yesterday!?!?!

If I don't rip someones head off and **** down their throat, how long should it take to get my stang in now? ..the priority on the order is 10 if that makes a difference. The dealer said 4 weeks (mid-end Oct) but I don't trust him as far as I can throw him now.. and I'm pretty **** strong!

Is it possible to get out of the order now? ..get my deposit back?

Sorry for the rant.. just ****ed!

See if you can find what you want on a Dealership near you. There are enough 08's out there, you might be able to find what you want on a Dealer lot. I got mad because they took four days to put my order in. Yours is even worse.

By the way, that four days made me miss having the car over the Labor day weekend. That was a long four days!

Yeah, funny thing is I was going to order the 18 inch fan blades, but didn't like the grey painted inserts on the fan blades wheels for 08. So, I changed my order and took them off, and added the HID's to my order.

If I hadn't I might have been stuck myself......

 

Speed, you should just take your deposit back and book. They are playing games with you, sorry to say. I recently delivered a forum member here (motorman) his new WB GT. The next day after ordering the car, I mailed him the DORA. This dealer gets a BIG and a from me. You want me to see whats out there on lots? If so, send me a PM. I'll be back in tomorrow late as I gotta attend the Ford/Microsoft SYNC in-car communications system training class. Its an all-day thing in Philadelphia. Thank goodness its right next to the Reading Terminal (Termini's Canolis!!!

 

Well after all this time waiting I finally received some good news..

My ETA for my car is 4 weeks!

He said the order finally pulled this past weekend. When can I get a VIN#? He said he thinks sometime when they schedule build date or the week of...

 

Speed, if they pulled your car for production last Friday evening, then there should already be a VIN number. They generate the number then the next week, the schedule date is set. I'd ask him to check the computer to see if its there (it should be if your car has already been pulled).

 

Congrats Speed! Only a month left!

Ok my salesman calls me up and I asked him again if my order pulled this past weekend. He said yes on either friday or monday. So I asked if he could check if their was a VIN# for my car. He came back and to no surprise whatsoever told me that there's no VIN yet. I wasn't expecting anything different, something about NJ dealers that really don't give a S about their customers.
So either they lied about the order being pulled, or the guys upstairs are just to lazy to help out.

 

Well, if (and with this dealer its not a BIG if), they are just too lazy to check for a VIN number. Now, if they are lying, and don't have a VIN number and said the car was pulled last week, then I hate to break it to you, but it sounds like its still "unsched/clean". You should just go in there, and demand the VIN number. Tell them, you need it for your insurance company. Anything to get them off their a$$es.

 

He called me on Monday and told me 4 weeks. If it's unsched/clean, does this mean it's going to be longer?
