Donna---You're getting an 06? In addition to the 05, or is that the car you are selling?

I am selling the 05 when I get a build date on the 06.

Thank Ed. It seems like a classic case of having a good relationship with your customers and suppliers and I'm certain that pays off for all.
Too bad so many dealers jerk people around. Most of the ones down in Florida are horrible, but there are a few good ones. I didn't get serialized the first Thursday, but did the second. Had considered ordering through you, but decided to deal with the same dealer that sold me my last Ford, and he came through for me.

Where are you in FL, maybe we'll meet up someday on one of my trips down there.

I flew to Florida and drove back the 1255 miles to Brooklyn NYC with my 05' Sonic GT. The dealers here are getting NOTHING! GT's are all over Florida. It's a great feeling knowing you have one of the few new Mustangs in the state, especially a GT and a Sonic Blue one too!
So that 500 miles is nothing, I would definitely go for it! Hang in there everyone waiting, keep looking as well, they are worth the wait! I still have my permagrin.
Say Hi to Angelina!

I know I have not been waiting as long as some, but it still stinks Ford keeps making V6 mustangs when there are buyers that want GTs. :bang:

I know there are good dealers and bad dealers, just as there are good and bad people in every facet of society.
Gary Yeomans Ford in Daytona proved to be the place that could deliver for me, and I live in Illinois. I ordered my '05 GT vert on May 19, and had my VIN faxed to me on May 20, and the car (via drop ship to my local dealer-who had me c/u for over 4 months) was in my garage on June 30. The Yeomans crew, especially Carlos Medina, are a bunch of straight shooters who get results.
I can't say enough to those who are c/u and not getting straight answers from their dealer to take your business elsewhere if you want a Mustang. I still have a great relationship with my local dealer, I still buy from him and take my vehicles there for service.
Want results? Try Carlos at Yeomans, or it also seems like Ed here is on top of things as well. Don't get left behind-this is too great a car to let slip by.

The person Ed ordered for was me. And let me tell you ordering from him has been one of the best car buying experiances I have ever had(it hasnt been to many but I dont think it can get much better) Everything he has said is true and I have a Build date for week of Sept 5
speaking of does anyone in the jersey area want a 2001 jeep cherokee
Kevin, I dont think it was a slam on V6s, just the ratio of V6s to GTs. They still out number GTs almost 5 to one. I dont know why, when this year there are just as many people who want GTs as V6s.
Very nice Ed...
Careful there Donna... dont forget the drama I had when my car arrived two weeks early! LOL

I think I've got you beat on the order speed, and I've got Mas35NYR beat on the distance to pick up the car ('05 Sonic Blue GT, by the way).
I was living in Seattle at the time, and the dealers there were all sold out of their allocations, or they had long waiting lists. I called a dealer in Des Moines, Iowa, and they thought they could get it for me in 6-8 weeks. I was shocked, but pulled the trigger. The order was put in on March 9th, and got serialized on March 10th. 1 day. Less than 24 hours, actually. I was shocked! And she actually showed up at the dealer a week before I picked her up. I flew home on May 6th to pick her up and spend the weekend with Mom for Mother's day. Then drove the 1800+ miles (I actually had 2200 miles when I got home) home the next week. Since then I've been racking up more and more miles on her, I now live in Las Vegas, and have 9150+ miles on the car in 3 and a half months. Still smells brand new though!
Congratulations on the quick order, someday they'll be able to take orders and start building the car in a matter of minutes, but for now, enjoy the wait, hopefully it won't be too long.
