I apologized to the buyer for making him wait two days to get his new GT coupe scheduled. I ordered it on Tuesday afternoon, the region changed the priority to 01 on Wed and they scheduled it on Thursday.

Dang, I love this business!

Thats just sick... (Not that it bothers me now that ERL told me I'm serialized as of the 18th)

That must be a record

Come on, you can't tell us this then not fill in the backstory!

Who was this buyer that warranted a pri 01?

Wow!! I hope my dealer keeps me informed about mine. They had allocation and told me 10 weeks at the most. I have got a car to sell.

Here's the rest of the story, really no story. I ordered a car for a TMS member thru emails as he lives quite a distance from me. I placed the order knowing we had 2 Mustangs this week and a good chance of one being a GT. That afternoon our regional rep just happened to stop by and I mentioned that i ordered another sold '06[ my 6th for TMS Menbers] and asked if we had allocation for a GT this week. He said he thought so and asked my order number and body type. I was out of the office on Wd when the DORA came so Thurs I got my DORA and was waiting to see if it would get scheduled. On Thurs I got a new DORA, he had 01'd it to make sure it pulled and it did.
I just know how the system works and what I can and can;t do without making promises to customers that I know i can;t keep. i would rather under promise and over deliver rather than the other way around. 24 years is a lifetime in this job but everyday is different and when yo have fun like me, it makes it so much easier.
The car business been very very good to me [to quote Chico Esquello on Staurday Night Live form the 70's]

It great for the guy who's getting his car Thursday...but I gotta tell you I'm pretty $%#&^% tried of reading about all these cars getting built. I know I have not been waiting as long as some, but it still stinks Ford keeps making V6 mustangs when there are buyers that want GTs. :bang:

Especially when there are 2 on every Ford lot I've seen, up to 9 at the lot around the corner from me. Sort of agravating

I think Ed means it was scheduled on thursaday to be built at a later date, not scheduled to be built on thursday. Please tell me thats how it is Ed
Ed's dealership is out in the sticks and he has good allocation, that is why his mustang customers are getting scheduled so quick. I'm driving 125 miles to buy from him.

Donna---You're getting an 06? In addition to the 05, or is that the car you are selling?

We have zero on our lot. All the GT allocation we are getting is going to retail orders I have been putting in the system.

The only stock GT we will have is a Torch red vert that was built last week for a TMS member who cancelled after I got it scheduled [another one that I got pulled within a week of ordering it]. Guess it wasn;t quick enough for him!

I flew to Florida and drove back the 1255 miles to Brooklyn NYC with my 05' Sonic GT. The dealers here are getting NOTHING! GT's are all over Florida. It's a great feeling knowing you have one of the few new Mustangs in the state, especially a GT and a Sonic Blue one too!

So that 500 miles is nothing, I would definitely go for it! Hang in there everyone waiting, keep looking as well, they are worth the wait! I still have my permagrin.

Say Hi to Angelina!

Thank Ed. It seems like a classic case of having a good relationship with your customers and suppliers and I'm certain that pays off for all.
Too bad so many dealers jerk people around. Most of the ones down in Florida are horrible, but there are a few good ones. I didn't get serialized the first Thursday, but did the second. Had considered ordering through you, but decided to deal with the same dealer that sold me my last Ford, and he came through for me.

I have a condo in the orlando area and unfortunately don;t get down there as often as I want.
