First road trip to Fairfax, Virginia and back to South Carolina got 28mpg on the way there and 29.6 on the way back. Car handles like a dream and got some thumbs up and a few waves going down the road.

Wow, that's great mileage! I cant get but 25-26 in our Mountaineer, with a V6. May have gotten some help from the weather.

sorry for the dumb question but does your car have an outdoor temp gage? I find that to be a usefull feature. I assume without auto temp the answer is no?

I mainly use the CD-R player with my Shaker 500. I tried the MP3 player through the Aux in port in the center console and it works, but the volume is too low. You have to crank your MP3 player up all the way to get the volume up to a decent level.

But, I also like the crome trim on some of the buttons on the Shaker 500. Looks better then I expected, and goes real good with the chrome AC/heater switch covers I got!

Yes it does show the artist/song info. I dont even bother with my IPOD. what for really? I can put about 150 mp3 songs onto 1 cd and it holds 6. Close to 1000 songs. I have no idea where I could possibly drive to, that I would have enough time to cycle through...

And your right..the sound is incredible. my buddy got in today and I cranked it up. He thought it was the best stock stereo he has even heard and even compared it to aftermarket setups.

They upgraded the 2008 stereo there is no question in my mind. If you have an ipod and buy songs on itunes you can't really burn those as mp3's to a cd. Thats a good reason to take the ipod. That is why I take mine.
