Ordered my '05 GT last night!

Hi guys!
Long time lurker, first time poster!
Placed my order last night and it got pulled today
Dealer says it looks like a mid to late March build and delivery sometime in April!
Of course, this is barring any other Ford delays, so we'll see (and pray).
You can see from my sig what I have ordered. Ordered on X plan. Dealer was very
good to work with. As a matter of fact, using X plan, this is the easiest time I have
ever had buying a car! No hassles, no haggling on price or anything else. Buying a
car should always be that easy. And as a bonus, I got a additional $250 bucks off
the already low X price!!
Now for the good news part. I had talk with my dealer this afternoon and found out
some things that some of you might be interested in.
1st off, walk in off the street to buy a GT, they are getting $1K over MSRP :angry:
2nd, if you request a quote from them via the net, like when you build your 'stang
at fordvehicles.com, search dealer inventory, then send a request to them, they will
sell you the car for $1K over invoice
3rd, if you request a quote via the net using X plan, they are happy to honor the X
plan price, plus they will give you the above mentioned $250 off as what they call
an "Internet Bonus"
From all that I have seen here in the group, that seems like a good deal to me.
All I know is that I took it an ran, before they changed their mind!!
Well for those who are in the west central Fla area, this might be a dealer for you.

Again, both these guys were great to deal with.
As a side point, once I found out I was eligible for X plan, I sent out requests for quotes to the five dealers that showed in the list using my zip. Of the five, only three responded. The three - Bill Currie, Ernie Haire, and Flammer all said the would honor the X plan, and in the very first call from Dave at Flammer, he offered the net bonus! What a suprise that was!
The two that never responded were: Freedom and Heritage.
Well, I gues that's enough for a first post. I hope this info helps someone out.

I hope you have better luck than me, I ordered up your way at Walker Ford, Clearwater. Still nothing. Ordered 11/13, still C/U, and have yet to get a single phone call from the dealer. I've initiated all communications, and after leaving several messages, I've only had one call ever get returned. Thanks for the tip, I might call them if my order doesn't get pulled tonight. Congratulations on your order, welcome to the long wait, and no, you can't cut in front of me.

), tell them what was on it, and when they should've gotten it. Then they 'realized' what it was that I wanted and gave it to me 3 weeks later. 
It's been a constant battle, I don't know why some dealers treat it like it's a top-secret, confidential document.

What a day! Went to the dealer today to give him my deposit and pick up a copy of my DORA. Got there about 11am and he had a copy of the DORA on his desk waiting for me! Mentioned to him that I was buying this car without even having test driven one. He says: Want to? :yes: Want to? I don't know I'm thinking! Maybe I shouldn't. Might make the wait that much worse!
Well anyway, what he did, and I thought this very cool of him, he let me take a lime V6 5-speed out for a while! He said: "just have it back before 7pm, I go home then".
So, I drove about 10 miles out to where my wife works and took her to lunch. This was also to let her see the lime in person, and she actually liked it! When we were discussing getting this car a while back, she said "any color but that #*!%# sonic blue". I don't know what she has against it, it was actually my 1st choice of colors!
After lunch, I drove it around a bit more, I put about 30 miles on the car, and then took it back. Had it for about 2 hours. The 6 is actually pretty nice. If it wasn't for that HP/TQ affliction I have, I could live with it for a daily driver.
I come walking back in with the keys, and he says: "wanna take the GT now?" Well........ Alright! Says don't keep it out too long, we got other people coming in to look at it, this is the only GT they have in stock right now. It is mineral gray, dark charcoal leather, 5-speed, shaker 500, spoiler, NO IUP, and premium wheels. Sure enough, when I got back, there were two people waiting to take it out!
All I have to say is: WOW :worship: , what a sweet ride. Drove it about 8-10 miles combined on the main highway (US 19) and a couple of back streets. Traffic was pretty heavy at this time (2:30pm), so I couldn't push it too hard. Did manage to find a deserted spot behind the Home Depot to "test out" the traction control.
Had to go the rest of the way back to the dealer with the windows down! Somehow, after a test without the TC, there was this strong smell of burnt rubber in the car
Seriously though, I had a blast! And I was right, now the waiting is gonna kill me!
By the way, the owner of the dealership actually has two of his personal cars on the showroom floor: A '93 supercharged triple-black convertible, and a 2000 Cobra R
The R has less than 300 miles on it and still has the original window sticker! And get this, on that sticker, it lists all the options, the "performance option" package, it's too long for me remember, was an additional $23,000.00
added to the price, for a total of just over $56K!!!! I just wish I had a digi cam with me
