Not sure what is going on at Ford, but my dealer called me yesterday to say Ford will only accept Orders with a customer signature. Apparently they are getting bogus orders. I wonder if some dealers are ordering with names that have not actually purchased a Mustang. I checked Ford's North American production figures for last week and it only shows 235 Mustangs built. Anybody else had this experience or heard of low production numbers?

dettrey766 you shouldn't have done that. That number at the request of the site admin is not to be posted.

It will be edited off when found. Please PM this info if you feel the need to share it.

Why should dettrey766 not have given out that info?

I got the number from another forum. Just thought I'd pass it on. No one told me I couldn't. Why shouldn't everyone be able to check their status?

Bill, I got the info from the following web address: http//media.ford.com/newsroom/release_display_new.cfm?release=867. When I run this today it won't run. If you use just the media.ford.com address you scan down to weekly production but you only get the total production. Not being a PC expert not sure why. I'm attaching the internet page where I did get the numbers as a txt file.

The production numbers in the attachment of my last post are in error. I don't know why the date shows 1999 yet I was on a web page that shows 2005 production numbers. Anybody out there know how to get breakdown of individual cars for 2005/!!!!

Brad and the site admin have requested the number not be posted. It is a Ford use only number and I guess they don't want to cause any problems with any contacts they may have. I personally don't really care. Just don't want to see anybody get in trouble. That's all.

Think I got news that is correct for the 2005 Mustang. go to http://media.ford.com and then click News box at top of page. Click 2005 Mustang Drops its top and the release gives numbers for the Mustang. There is a press release from AAI included. Tried to attach this but can't.

Well if I guess it will be around two months after your confirmed order up to its build date , could be more I got mine from Suburban same family got more sales persons than Carter has pills . so I ordered Dec 16 and build week is Feb21-Feb 28 . I did get a call this morning that it is on a platform moving on the floor what ever that means. If you go through withdraw send me a note well hook up a go for a ride if it ever comes. And It will ( Build it and they will buy it ) .

Ordered my 2005 10/28/04 went to pick it up, man I was excited! It looked great, until I found a dent in top of the the front fender. I wanted it so bad, but had to re-order it. Re ordered it on 1/9/05, still dont have a build date. Dealer said Ford will re start production march 1st. Does anyone know if production was actually stopped due to the "my Color" option? I probably wont receive this car till May - this really stinks. Already had the paint shop ready to paint some stripes on it, and Ive ordered an intake and exhaust for it. will probably have to blow the dust off the boxes when the car comes in.

6-8 weeks? HA!!!

I just placed an order for my 05 GT today from my local dealer (SE Alaska, I have only one option here) and was told 3-5 months for delivery. The sales manager actually came out after talking with someone at corporate (least it sounded that way when I overheard a bit of the conversation) and said it might even be an 06 GT that I get... and that delivery could, worst case scenario, be september/october. Given my current loan propositions, this doesnt bother me too much (more time to get bigger down)... still, 6-8 weeks wouldnt be so bad considering. Ive been a chevy guy for all of my 29 years on this earth (my BD was monday, so this is my present to myself)... but darn if this car aint enough to make me not only convert but be patient about it as well. I just hope that mine is a late 05 vs an 06 as A) I dont really want to wait THAT long and B) it looks like mineral grey wont be available in 06... as I think I read elswhere on this site... rumor or not.

BTW, my dealer said that somewhere around 70k 'stangs in the queue waiting to be built... anyone know if he was just blowin smoke up my *** or what? Im guessing being local he probably doesnt have a whole lot of allocation units n whatnot... but I dunno... this is my first new car ever, so its kinda a new experience for me.

Cheers all.

I live in San Diego and just ordered my Satin Silver GT convertible with IUP, etc. from the largest mover of Mustangs in town. They are also the only ones not tacking a hefty premium on the car.

It went super smooth, but I still don't have a build date. They say they are expecting a build date within the next two weeks - but, not that the build date itself will be within the next two weeks - and told me that we were probably looking at April for delivery.

They said the backlog of coupes is huge and that the holiday shut-downs didn't help much (losing some 3 weeks of production). However, the current job includes convertibles and there is a number of 'verts that *will* be built - no matter what. So, even though there are a number of coupes orders outstanding, that isn't supposed to impact my order.

I hope so.

I ordered my 2005 Black GT with red interior, Premium with the upgraded wheels, 500 Shaker sys back on 12/2/04 with a delivery date of April 15th. Not anymore, just got a call two days ago saying they didn't even have a build date for it and it would most likely be June/July. Apparently the priority code is pretty high(meaning most important) due to the dealer I went thru. I would have hated to ordered it last week...geeesh!!

:bang: I ordered my 2005 GT Premium coupe on 12/30/04. Sonic blue, IUP, 5 sp, 17" rims, security pkg, deep charcoal leather. Dealer excepted X-Plan, and priority 10 order. As of 3/19/05, dealer says they have no info of vin or build date. I hope the planned Mustang production increase allows a late spring delivery.
