Still c/u for me...ordered 12 7 04. I dont understand how some people who order back in Nov, sept, Aug, Etc.., can still be clean and unscheduled and some people in december already have vin's and build dates for the same car...hardly seems fair, what is wrong with this picture?

It's a pretty complex system. This seemed to help me get a grasp on it:

Still doesn't make complete sense to me... but it explains a few things. The system probably works well for supplying dealership lots, but for customer orders I think a first come first serve system would be more fair. Then again, that wouldn't work too well when you hit parts shortages and such. Oh well.

What would be really nice is if you could order your car online and check your build status via the Ford website. Kinda like when you order a PC from Dell.

Should i be worried that the automated number is still telling me that my car is scheduled to be built 1/7? Is it possible they have just not updated their computers yet?
