im suppose to install front license plate
#82
I instructed my salesman to NOT DRILL THE FRONT BUMPER. When I picked up my car, THE SCREWS WERE ALREADY INSTALLED IN THE BUMPER. The salesman knew I was pi**ed. He said that the inspection mechanic would not pass the car without mounting for the front liscence plate (VA).

I live in Illinois and my car came predrilled as it is a law here. I immediately took it off. I have a 94' jeep with custom tube bumpers. It has no spot for a front plate. In last 5 years without a plate, have been stopped for 3 speeding tickets, no mention of plate (state troopers) involved in 1 accident, not my fault, no mention of plate, (City cop). It has been noticed by 2 cops, both times I said oh I did not know and they just gave me a verbal warning. I did not have any T&A to get me out of it by batting my eyes so I guess it would have to be a real A-hole to give you a ticket for this or if you give him a reason.

WHY are the plates required in the front? I see no reason for them to be. I'm a Texan, and have always thought this to be rather stupid, but for THIS reason:
They don't design cars with front license plates in mind. But they do design cars with California emissions in mind... So why are they stupid and "forget" the front plates?
At least the Corvette had a place for it. And the old '66 I had did as well. But most of today's cars seem to not be able to do it except in a rather ugly fashion, either a damaging front bracket, or the plate put in a very strange and ugly position. Is it *that* freakin' difficult, ya lameo engineers?!?!
Thanks, I feel somewhat better now...
