It's been mentioned in a few other forums, but there is a great product out now, a retractable license plate cover! U have a switch on the dash that lets you have the plate up and in sight, or down and under the chin - here's a link: www.watsons-streetworks.com/license_plate.html
It's meant for show cars, but I figure, whats the harm of using it when you're driving? Even if u got pulled over for not having the plate, just a flip of the switch and the cop thinks he's losing it! B)

Headlight works just as well. I don't know the State justification for front plates but, it makes my job easier when looking for a specific car and plate. It also helps when checking to see if it's stolen when it's coming at me. You would be surprised at how many criminals are found this way(pulled over for no front plate).

Or you could just move to a state that doesn't require you to have a front plate. That's one of very few perks of Tennessee. In fact I can't think of any others at the moment. Let me go think about what the others are.
Op, I think another is no state income tax. Let's see, what else? Nope that's it no state income tax & no front license plate. Yep guess I will stick around here for a while longer.
Seriously though, you could always wait till you find the retractable front plate bracket & get that. Then you really would be waiting for a bracket Until then I will just wish you good luck on not getting caught.

I had a 97' Vette and left the "Corvette" plate in the front (In NJ) and never had a problem. It seems that front plates and tinted windows won't get you pulled over in NJ. I will NOT be putting a plate on my 06' Stang !
If your doing 100+ on the GSP.... that's another story !

The whole car's a reflective surface to bounce laser/radar off of, Dustin - TreadHead knows the real reason its enforced.
P.S. TreadHead - thanks for catching car thieves! (but u make it sound like leaving ur front plates off is a security measure! )

Thanks Ben and believe me it's my pleasure to catch a criminal. Especially car thieves. Just wanted to let y'all know there are a few good reasons for front plates. Atleast y'all have the choice to leave it off. I, believe it or not, can be disciplined at work if my car doesn't comply with the law. Oh and welcome to The Mustang Source Ben.

HaHa! If you only knew how many times I wished I had that tank at work. I think I might be able to get away without the front plate on that one since I would be in more trouble for all the cars I "accidentally" ran over.
