When I asked I was told they are not directional. They are Asymmetric and should be cross rotated. In fact I had it cross rotated at the dealership. I would hope they are not that retarded.

Yah its true. One of the rare pleasures of living in the middle east. Oh and $0.70/gallon gas is lovely.
That’s true, well kind of.. I'm in Kuwait, near Dubai, same fine *** roads though. The highway I take to work is 8 lanes wide each direction, very light traffic, no speed limit, with plenty of fine *** cars to play with on the way. The roads here are not nearly as long as the Autobahn, but they are wider and better maintained, and are all brightly lit at night.

With all the $$$ you're saving paying $0.70 a gallon on gas, just buy 4 new tires and put the old ones in the garage as spares.

Well near enough. Most people aren't too well versed on the geography of this part of the world. Dubai is a 550 mile drive from Kuwait. It takes around 8 hrs with all the border stops (1 in Kuwait, 2 in Saudi, and 1 in UAE). Driving through the eastern Saudi desert is scary to say the least. Roads are nice and well kept, but plenty of wild camels dart across. You don't wanna hit a camel. Its like hitting a reinforced brick wall.

Well I bought the 1 tire last night. I bargained the dude down to 72 Dinars ($250). Its so **** expensive! This price included balancing and installation.

Why not just go steal a set??! It was ok to steal tunes, DVD's, and software so why not this??!
And remember someone posted about karmha will get you Zaghloul in the "using someone elses tune" thread??! Well maybe now you will believe....

If it was me, at only 8k miles, I'd most likely replace just one. If your tire salesman is reputable (I go to Goodyear), ask them. If the treads not to far different, one will make no difference. My moms minivan (nasty, I know) had a blowout after about 24k miles, and we got away with just replacing one of the tires. There's no exact science to it, you just have to look at your particular situation.
