I was wondering about the quality of window tint that the dealer installs and approx. what it costs. I'm looking to sneak that into my purchase deal. My price is already set, but if you don't ask, you don't know.
Thanks

SixtySix - it is very very very very very very difficult to get tint to stick to that black-dot stuff.. its almost impossible. That's why you havent seen any cars with a clean tint around those dots.

Well I've done a little research on the subject, and there are ways around it. The idea I like the most is NOT tinting the matrix area, then cutting a black piece of vinyl and literally pinstriping the area from the end of the tint to where the matrix begins.
I just have to find a tinter who's going to go that extra mile for a flawless job.

Oh ya, and people will have no idea that you did this because you can't tell from the outside and nobody would know the difference on the inside either.

I have 20% on everything but the windshield and I have never been pulled over because of it (have been pulled over and received a speeding ticket but nothing mentioned about the tint). Personally I think 20% looks good, helps keep some of the sun out, and doesn't bother law enforcement enough to pull you over because of it.

I don't know what tint you guys have usually had installed, but the stuff they use at this dealership I go to is 3M tint and it is gooooddddddd!!! It actually is heated on and has a limited lifetime warranty if I remember right. The tint has never bubbled and I've never had problems with dot matrix areas. B)

Thats right.
Most dealers don't bother because there is no money to be made in window tint and a service department does not want to hear complaints about it.
