Question Dealer says I can't order my '07 yet!

Hello everyone,

I have been waiting to order a 2007 Mustang GT, and my dealer has been telling me I can't order yet because he hasn't received the pricing. I see some posts that people have ordered back in April or sooner...why can't I? What is the X-plan? I also see that people are saying that the pricing is available. Do I need to find a new dealer? I was referred to this guy by my friend who operates a credit union...supposed to be giving me the car for close to invoice.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Hi Mark! Welcome to the Forums!....The way I understand, Some dealer are higher on Ford's priority list, and get information before others...Official pricing just came out this week, so you should definatley be able to order. The Order banks became open last month for most 2007 models, I believe...but dont hold me to that. The best thing I can tell you do do is to ask other local dealers...some dealerships do know whats going on...

The X plan, as I understand, is a special pricing format for special people, (families) although some dealers will let you in on it if they really want to make the sale...I think you have to have a special pin number or something... I'm sure someone else can explain it better... Hope ya stick around this place! Its WAY fun.

I ordered mine back in March just after the order banks opened. My dealer didn't have pricing yet either but that didn't stop them from placing the order. I should have it on or around June 24th.

What he said! I place my order with Winner Ford the week of 3/13, the first day of ordering. It will arrive there on Wednesday, June 21st. That's less than 3 weeks away. I can give you my salesman's name if you wish. PM me!

Same with me, I ordered April 1st and the ETA for my car is the week of June 28th. I was able to get my X-plan price from my dealer yesterday. They did put me off for a couple of weeks in March by telling me the same thing - that they couldn't place the order until they had prices - but then they realized they were wrong and put it in a couple of weeks later. In any event, prices are available now so you shouldn't have any issues. Good luck!

The dealer is Lilliston Ford in Vineland. If anyone knows a trusty dealer in NJ who can order a mustang for me for a couple hundred over invoice, please let me know.

Thanks

Thanks for the information. Does anyone have an idea as to when I would receive my car if I order this week? My dealer estimated early September.

Ordered my 2007 GT Vert Prem in Early April without pricing, and is suppose to be build the 6/12 week "so they say".

Your dealer does not know what he/she is doing if they said you cannot order it when you wanted to.
Get a new dealer or talk to the main guy at the dealership.
Anyway pricing came out on Friday, and '07's will start being built on 6/5/06.

Go here, register (if you haven't already), and start a new thread requesting an x-plan PIN - http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums...p?showforum=45

Someone will contact you requesting some information (full name, address, maybe SS#) and provide you with a PIN. Then all you have to do is locate a dealer that will accept the x-plan. I suggest looking for an SVT certified dealership.

The invoice came to 28,476.00. Dealer says that I will pay about $50-100 bucks below that (x-plan).
