A couple of "rig" shots of Maxine
Finally got all the pieces together for my photography 'car-rig'. Took Maxine out yesterday afternoon to shoot my first shots with the rig.
Here are the results. Hope you guys like.

What lens are you using? that boom looks huge, like 10-12 feet. Have you considered something ultrawide like a Tokina 11-16mm? If you got something that wide then you could shorten the boom some. I can get the whole car in the shot from 1-6 ft away, depending on the angle:
(I apologize for the crappy pics)
8ft

Here's the secret. With the long exposure, the car is actually rolling backwards at about 2 mph. It's all smoke and mirrors. ;-)

Either way works. It just so happens that the hill I was on, for the proper light direction I was facing uphill. You don't want the engine running, that will cause vibrations in the boom. So backwards I go.
