I ordered a Redfire V6 Vert just last week. But the dealer hasnt ordered it yet. I am starting to get the feeling it wont get built as a 2005.

So I am considering doing a dealer locate on another V6 Vert, leather interior, 5spd manual, IUP upgrade and compromising on exterior color.

What do you guys think?

Has anyone else changed a factory order to a locate and regretted it?

Has anyone been really happy that they did a locate instead of a factory order?


This late in the game, what would you guys do if you were in my shoes?

 

:scratch: Well unless you want to wait for an 06 Vert (which who knows when it will be complete), I think you need to do a locate....

 

I think it all depends on what you want. As for me I'd wait to get the vehicle just the way I want it. Especially the exterior color.

 

Good luck doing a locate. Hold out for the 06 and get it exactly the way you want it.

 

Beasley Ford in York PA has/had a Legend Lime/black top/charcoal leather V6 Vert/5 speed listed on FordDirect for 27700. Doesn't have IUP but others on here have had their dealer install it.

It was still on the lot on Sunday evening when I was out cruising.

 

Hmm. I am in Victoria BC Canada. So I probably going to be looking at British Columbia dealers only. I think the charge for delivery there is only $300 CDN.

Regarding waiting to '06. I don't know. I don't have a vehicle at all right now, just riding the bus.. I was on my way to buy a 2003 mustang when I stopped in at the dealer and was upsold to a new 2005.

 

I would A) tell your dealer to submit that stinker RIGHT NOW. You can probably still get a V6 built before change over. B) Heavily consider switching to a 06 V6.

You might find a V6 Redfire Vert somewhere in the US although with exact options it could be a long shot. I couldn't find my MG loaded Coupe anywhere. I'd prefer a factory order so I know no one has toyed with my car. The only thing we know you can't get for sure is the GT.

But you also might like adding the pony package available for the 06 and that tire pressure monitoring system might tickle your fancy too.

I'm getting an 05 but the pony package made me think for a second. I'm happy with a first gen .
