Hey Stang fans: I was driving a little this afternoon, getting off the interstate on a very sharp, 270 degree type off ramp. I pushed the acceleration to see what she would do in the turns. It handled very well (just a little rear end jump), but in the peak of the curve (where the g force was piling on) suddenly some alarm chime started going off. Freaked me out a bit, didn't know what was going on, but it spoiled the ride! I didn't see any warning lamp, nor did the message center keep a warning for later. I could not find anything in the user's manual. Anyone have this happen to them?

it might of been the turn signal indicator. leave your turn signal on gotng straight and listen if it is the same warning as you heard before.

Right....I remember once or twice my low fuel warning came on prematurely and at first I couldn't figure out what the warning was for.

Elvism: Does the gas chime come with a warning light then? I had 78 miles til empty on the message center, but I could see the gas sliding hard to the side making the chime go. Could have been the chime I had.

MrV8-It was a chime, not the "click" that the retro blinker makes. Thanks for the input though.

94Tbird-Your chime sounds like the traction control, especially if it was with a spin out.

I don't think it is the gas warning, the signal warning, or anything else mentioned. i have the exact same thing happen to me on a certain interstate off-ramp. It is a very sharp turn, kind of a corkscrew downward, and I always take it faster than the speed limit. I get pushed against the driver side door, but the car never feels like it is going to come loose. Every time I do this, i get a warning siren in my ear. i know it isn't the gas warning because it happens regardless of how full my tank is. it also isn't the tration control because I don't have Traction control on my car, and it in't the signal light warning because it does it even if I don't use my turn signal before I turn. I am not exactly sure what it is though.

Does the Mustang know you are pulling a potentially dangerous number of g's? Sounds like it to me....

Well traction control would kick in if your back end started to slide out with the TCS on (which it is by default)
Probably what happened.

Its just to warn you that it kicked in.

Actually MrV8 could have been right too. If you leave your blinker on (not talking about the clicking from the turn signal being on) a message comes up saying something like "Turn Signal Reminder" or something to that effect. Got me the other day. Kind of freaked me out at first too because I had filled up and was buckled up. It's a nice little addition though.

I think you and mr V8 might be on to something. I had not experienced the turn signal reminder chime before. My wife tried it out today. I did not know it did that! My turn signal was on to get off the interstate, and it was still on through the switchback. I bet you guys are right! :drive:

Mine did this same thing going off an exit from the interstate. I had my sister in law with me, and it started chiming, and she said, "Whats that mean?" I was not sure,... thought maybe it was hot, but I checked the gauges, everything was fine.

Happened again the other day, same chime, .... then stopped. It was the turn signal warning. I tested it just yesterday, put the blinker on and let it run --- after a while it chimes.

Maybe that is what happened in your case as well.
Pretty cool feature though -- although the blinker is so loud, how could you forget you had it on???

He is refering to the warning chime the car makes when you leave the turn signal on for longer that a half mile, not the actual noise the turn signal makes.

My traction control does not beep at me when it is active.... just "Trac Control Active" pops up in the message center. But no beeping or chiming.

Should I take it in?
