Hey all, first time poster, soon to be first time Mustang owner, from Grass Lake, MI.

I ordered a GT on April 4 at a local dealer, and he was pretty up front about it being very unlikely I would actually get a 2005, said something about 10-15 people ahead of me...

Then on April 29 while I was up north visiting family, I decided to stop by a Ford dealer in one of those small towns, after having read about how others have had luck with dealers outside of the bigger towns.

Turns out he had just gotten allocations and two of them were unused! So I canceled original order and put one in with him instead on 04/29/05 and now my GT is scheduled to be built week of June 13!

I would have never thought of dealers in different areas having so very different waiting times if not for this board!

----
Ordered: Torch Red GT Coupe Premium with options: IUP, ICAP, Auto, Active Anti-Theft, Side Airbags, Wheel Locks.
(Yes I like the color red! )

That's exactly what I did. We have lots of big Ford dealerships here in Phoenix, I ordered from one in Prescott (about 100 miles north of Phoenix) and got the car 9 weeks later. It's unfortunate that alot of people have had such a difficult time, but my order process was completely painless. Paid $500 over invoice compared with minimum MSRP selling price, or higher.
