I thought of a question you should have asked....is the three spoke steering wheel only for the first year as rumors are stating?
didn't think about it

I never even heard of the rumors

dustin, did you notice how big the blindspots were/ visibility out the side rear?
To be honest I didn't even check that stuff out. Oh well. I was busy playing with gadgets and there was too much stuff going on. I was too busy revving the engine and having an eargasm sorry. I did adjust the side mirrors though.

Dunstin

What was your overall feeling of the red on red....exterior and interior. Was it too much or was it the right balance?

Thanks
I friggin loved it! I'm buying the exact same car.

Dustin..could you tell if when you changed the color setting on the panel if the dash lights changed on the fly or did you have to "hit enter"?
or was it to bright out to see the colors?
the dash lights changed on the fly. Meaning while you flipped through the selections, the highlighted color was displayed. It was neat. I saw the colors quite clearly. I must add that the gauges are set in very deep into the console, like 6" at least. Lots of shadow to see the colors perfectly even in bright light.

Oh man I'm pissed, I just realized I didn't take a pic of the front lights being on :bang:

Its not a spot for a scoop. Its there so the engine will fit under the hood.

True, but it looks perfect for putting something there if that's what they have planned. I am wondering how they are going to fit a bigger engine like the 5.4 in this car if the 4.6 just about fits? [/b][/quote]
He said there's ample room for a bigger engine and other doodads. The engine compartment looks much more spacious in person (3D). Remember I said they designed it for furture expansion/mods.

Oh yeah another thing I just remembered.

I asked the Ford guy what the deal was with the antenna. I wanted to know why they put that big dumb antenna instead of a hidden one. He said they originally tried a hidden antenna but couldn't get AM stations that well (no sports radio for the engineers) and the best spot for reception is where it is now. Oh well, they tried?

Many kudos to Dustin on getting the best on-spot report I've seen on the internet for any of the new 2005 models. I thank you greatly.

Wow. Thank you Dustin. This has got to be one of the most informative threads in all of the 2005 Mustang's history here.

Oh one more thing the Ford guy said. They started (or finished I can't remember) training their 2nd shift at Flat Rock and in 2 weeks they are starting production of dealer demo cars. Kind of a pre-production run to get some publicity for the dealers I guess?
