This makes me even more ticked that Pony Drive skipped Oakville...

but as long as someone got a good look at the car, all is good

I always just sat in the middle of Mustang back seats anyway. Yeah I'd die in a crash and all, but it's the only way I could squeeze in.

Nice job on the video and photos. Thanks for them!

However, I am now officially bummed about the engine cover. I was wondering why we kept seeing the cars without them.

I also noticed the tires were Pirelli P-Zero Nero, which list for $129.00 a piece on the Tire Rack website. That is a reasonable price if you stay stock.

So here I am sitting in the car, pushing all the buttons and snapping pictures. Somebody form the tour wanted to see under the hood so I popped it for him. I keep looking around inside and I feel a tap on my shoulder and look up, and the Ford guy is dangling a key in my face. He says "start it up and rev the engine". At this point I thought I was dreaming. I pinched myself to make sure I wasn't. I pushed the clutch in turned the key and the red beast roared to life....

Now I start getting people's attention. Everybody immediately flocks around me, and the exposed engine. I rev the engine like crazy. First a few taps to get a feel for it, then I rev it up to six grand a few times. Man, what a noise. I really can't explain it, you have to experience it for yourself. The engine sounded unbelievable from inside and you could feel it in your seat. And the torque, oh my god. When you slam the gas, the car leans to the right from the engine torque, like a giant diesel truck. I closed my eyes and imagined popping the stick in first and dumping the clutch, but of course I didn't. That will have to wait until March. I can't wait for that. Now you guys might think I'm lucky because of what I was able to do, but let me tell you I wish I didn't get to do it. Now the wait is going to be a lot harder because I know personally what this car can do.

I shifted the gears around. The shifter was very sticky and gummy, but the throw itself was nice and kind of short. I think it could be shorter. The arm rest is level perfectly with the ****, so you can easily shift without taking your elbow off the rest. I was quite impressed.

Right about then another spectator jumps in and we start playing with the information center. The guy was pressing the 3 buttons on the center console and I was snapping photos.

These are the top level displays:

What the heck is IFE?

Okay now there was an option where you could run a diagnostic on the computer systems. We ran that, then messages started flashing by, I took pictures as fast as I could. No doubt I missed some.

What is ETC?

I thought of a question you should have asked....is the three spoke steering wheel only for the first year as rumors are stating?

They should be able to engineer something with the new airbag and a 3 spoke. Man I'll buy a 2005 wheel and install that dammit

I think the information center has me most intrigued about the car, believe it or not. This does a LOT to move the Mustang upscale, and it'll still be affordable. Ah, bless Ford.

Because of the way the airbag has to deploy, its pretty much impossible. All wheels will have to have an open area above it of at least a certain dimension. (I forget what the dimensions are)

So I guess you could have a 3 spoke but it won't look like it does, it will pretty much right angles if they were to do 3 spokes.

Edit: I agree, bless ford. They seem to be doing a lot of things right for the 05 model year. There seems to be a vehicle for pretty much everyone.
