- The car is well proportioned. To me, the 04 gives the impression that the body and frame are mismatched in size. The 05 is a clean design, just like the 65 Mustang, 63 Vette, and other vehicles that have a complete and balanced design. It is a full size larger than the 65 Stang.

You got that right!

The 99-04 looks like a hobby horse go cart compared to the 05.

What was even funnier was that when I was there there was a Mustang II (Cobra II model) parked right next to the 05. You can see it in Dustin's photos.

Those hosers who posted that the '05 looks like the Stang II need to check themselves into a mental institution. (or at least see an optometrist).

Thanx V10. Come on down to florida..no front plate here
I'm working on moving out of here right now. Northern FL is on my possible list. If I didn't have to pay the property taxes and state income tax that we have up here I could afford an '05 Stang right now.

darn, 6'4" and 280 w/32" inseam and it looks like you JUST fit comfortably. I'm concerned on that as, I'm 6'5", 240 w/34-36" inseam, and it appears your knees are very close to rubbing on the console/door.

Is it as cramped as you look in the pics? What about the headroom? In the pic w/you in the seat, it appears you're almost topping out there against the liner?

I'm guessing you are from CT or MA. You do know that even though you don't pay those taxes, the average wage is much much lower down there, so you really aren't going to save much money by not paying the taxes.

WOW! This came outta left field! Nice Work Dustin! If what they're saying about the increase in size and dimensions is true, Us Big Guys (I'm 6'4" 385 lb with a 34" Inseam) Won't have a problem in an 05!

I drove my Roomates, Sisters 01 V6, 5 speed Stang the other night,(Not Enough Power for me that's for sure!) but, besides the feeling that the drivers door was a bit close to my shoulder, I was comfortable in it, so If the 05 has more leg, shoulder, and head room then It will Be Perfect!

I'm imagining it to be close to my Old 87 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, in Interior Room, and it sounds Much better than my Old 92 Lincoln Mark VII LSC, or my friends 91 LX 5.0 (Man those Fox Stangs feel really cramped inside to me now. Of course I'm a bit bigger too, than when they were new.)

One question Dustin, You said "It is a Full Size Larger than a 65", how does it compare to a 69/70?

It really depends on what part of Florida, even what part of Northern Florida. Jacksonville has a higher cost of living than my end, Pensacola, and the wages are a good bit higher on average there. But, even though the average pay here in P'cola is lower, housing is rediculously cheap. I can get a fully furnished two-bedroom apartment for $550/month, rent a 3-bed 2 story house for $800/month, or you can buy a nice sized place ~15 years old for probably $80k average. I think it's a good trade-off, and the area is beautiful.

Dustin, great work on all of this! Unfortunately it'll be a few years until I'm out of college (finally) and making real money so I can't look at buying one, but you did a great service to the people here who are. Kudos.

as you can see, the new mustang's front passenger dimensions are very similar to the old style grand prix (like the one in my signature)

in fact, the interior room is one of the main reasons i have a GP and not a mustang...my 6'4" self didn't fit well in the sn95

in other words, the 2005 should be as comfortable as a grand prix...which is GREAT news for us giants

Dustin...can you clarify something for me. Are the holes for the front plates actual holes or are they just like little dimples?
tiny holes, I'm sure aftermarket plugs will be availiable.

Well like I said I fit confortably with both feet on the pedals and my legs don't rub on anything. There isn't much room for stretching however. It's built like a race car, not a Lincoln. My 01 Accord coupe has much more leg room. You should be fine, don't worry about it.

Head room was ample if you moved the seat all the way down

Something else I forgot. All this stuff comes back to me in pieces. Underneath the hood there will be a blanket with mustang logos all over it.

To me it looked like pre-drilled pilot holes. I don't know exactly what the production car will have. It may be different, like dimples. I would think dimples would be better. We'll have to wait and see.

There were definately holes in that bumper.

Yeah, I think they'll be dimples.
They wouldn't have a predrilled bumper unless EVERYONE needed it (Which they don't)
I'm eager to see 'bracket' (probably will look better than flat out drilling the plate in)

The hood blanket on the current stang has a running pony in it (1) but its cool
Can't wait to see the new one.

I had a '98 GP, and I barely fit, so this is good news for me too!

I still might have to duck to see traffic lights change, but I've gotten used to that...

My car has similiar premarked holes in the front. You can hardly tell they are there from a foot away.
