5.0L Coyote Retrofit in 2005-2009
Saw this today on fordracing.com. from a question and answer forum between Ford employees and Jamie Allison, director Ford North America Motorsports:
Will the new 5.0L engine be sold as a Ford Racing part to install in ‘05 to ‘09 Mustangs?
”Absolutely, 5.0 is the holy grail for all Mustang enthusiasts. So, yes, we plan to offer the new 412HP 5.0L through our catalog and we have plans to develop an install kit across various platforms [Mustang installs, racing, hotrods/streetrods, etc.].

That is awesome! I'd rather drop in a 5.0 than go out and buy a new Mustang! Not in the near future, but 3 years down the road? What, $15 - $20K installed? Still cheaper than a a new car. I'm in.

That would be cool but very expensive... I guess I would just slap an SC on and call it done... Does anyone know how much this would cost in parts and labor? is 15k - 20k correct? I would be interested if it was in the 10k range...

But power potential is much greater, IMO it would be a good upgrade for somebody whose grenaded a 3v.
Anyways, is the bellhousing bolt pattern different on the 5.0? If not and the oilot on the crank is the same then I dont see why the 5.0 wouldn't bolt up to the M5 in the S-197a and b?

I'm in Canada and a loaded GT convertible is now $50 000 + . For the better milage and performance, this is way cheaper than a new convertible. Besides, I like the look of mine better (except my cheap hasbro designed interior)

I know the engine yes is a better platform, but building our engines and going FI would be way easier. I don't think that engine is going to be extremely more economical than our engines. So why would you rather spend 10+k on a new engine rather than building and FI your current 3v?

You can out run a GT500 by a car length or 2 for 20k in mods!! Not just the engine too. You can go brakes, handling, revamped interior, rims, tires, so much.
why settle on an extra 112 crank hp? and nothing else for 15k.
That's crazy talk

Although people are tossing prices around, nobody knows what a 5.0 kit price will be, nevermind when people start wrecking the things and they end up in the boneyard.
