probably didn't want to pay the extra change to the patent holder to integrate it.

what about the red stiching at the steering wheel, is that 2008 too?? and the leather handbrake?? I really want the leather handbrake.. hehe..

That's pink stiching. It's part of the "Warriors in Pink" package. See 2008 order guide for details.......

That NAVI unit is identical to the unit in my MKZ.

This NAVI unit works great. Has so many features, I'm still learning how to use it even after nine months of ownership. The only thing it does not do that my Roadmate 760 (used in my Continental) does, is that the Ford Navi unit does not show your altitude. (Also does not show your speed, however that is what your car speedometer is for - Checked my MKZ speedometer against my Roadmate, and the MKZ speedo is dead nuts spot on, so the Navi unit does not need the speed function).
