Info on 2009 Mustang?

Hey all, I've been pondering this...

I bought a 2007 Redfire V6 Pony Package back in March. It's fully loaded, for the most part, but I wasn't able to get the Comfort Group I wanted, nor could I get the navigation system because the dealer I wanted to order from told me "Ford isn't putting navigation systems into V6 Mustangs". But that's another story.

The problem is, I love the car, but I wish I had bought a GT, and in some ways I wish I could have waited until the 2008's came out because I think the Ambient Lighting is pretty cool. Also, it would have been incredible to drive a Bullitt. The issue at the time was that I was driving a 1995 Ford Probe which had over 200,000 miles on it, and $50.00 repairs were turning into $400.00 repairs because parts simply weren't available any more.

So, my new plan is to hold onto the 2007 until the last model year of the current model (2005+) and then buy a GT w/ every option I want. I definitely want one from this current line, because the rumors I've heard are the the next redesign is going to be much less retro on the inside and have more of that Giugaro look on the outside (Ugh!). Essentially, the Mustang will lose, to me, what made me fall in love with it.

Therefore, does anyone know for sure, what is going to be the last model year of the current line? Will it be 2008 or 2009? I know the Bullitt is confirmed, but will there be a Mach 1 or a Boss. Honestly, I would buy a Mach 1 in a heartbeat, unless of course they apply the Mach 1 to a new design.

Perfect scenario: 2009 is the last model year, but they drop a different engine in the GT which gives more horsepower while being somehow more gas-efficient. And they put out a Mach 1. That would be incredible, and I would so trade in my V6 for that...

Yeah. I'm in a similar boat. Ideally I'd wait until the '09 or '10 redesign, but I'm driving an '00 Volvo that's about 2.5k miles away from running out of warranty. (So I orderedn an '08)

From what I hear, I think the next mustang GT is supposed to have 350HP and have the ability to deactivate 4 cylinders while cruising/idling.

I read the 350hp figure from a site that quoted Mr. Shelby himself "slipping" it out.

There's a lot about the next gen mustang in the 2010+ forum, I believe that 2009 will be the last year of the S197 models.

The 2010 re-design, will be nothing more than just a re-fresh, similar to the SN-95 re-fresh that took place in 98-99..Although both the front and rear sections will get minor face lifts ? hips are going to be added to the quarter panels..However, the current greenhouse along with the overall design of the car, will remain un-changed..Therefore, the current S-197 platform will continue, at least until the first major re-design, which more than likely won't take place, until 2012-2015 anyhow.
