And now for something completely different...
Ford's Web site has a neat article about an industry first: Neural Network Computer Processor in the new Aston Martin.
Aston Martin DB9 is High-Tech Under the Hood
It's smarter and can find Sarah Connor (if you get that...)

Speaking to what Eleanor brought up, if you want something really confusing, look at the Ford GT, which has a mid-engine, and the intake is actually at the REAR of the car. The intake points the opposite direction from the belts.

See? That's why I ask, so I know after I find out. Now I know. (And am sorry for having to sound like a moron finding out)
That was jmo-- Maybe I find it easy because I have spent wayyyyyyyy too much time under that hood filling, repairing and replacing stuff in the last year or so and I am used to it. I also don't think I have ever owned a RWD car.
Moving on..

"Experience gained from the work done on the DB9's engine is allowing the same technology to be applied to mainstream Ford V-8 and V-10 programs."
And someone on these boards said Ford should dump Aston Martin!
That DB9 is one of the most gorgeous cars on the planet. :worship:

I gotta play woman here-
Why is the engine in there backwards? I know every inch of my engine, and it is turned the exact opposite of this one.
Or do they come both ways?
Please don't kill me!

Silly question?: HOW does the intake cover attach? I don't see any screws... does it snap-on or something?
Hey but that Neural Network stuff is sick. Really cool
(But what's the next step. 2007 Mustang Cobra w/ artificial intelligence? I hope not. If I were that computer, I'd one day realize what a fabulous car I'm controlling and just drive away. Until I run out of gas )

I knew I would look like a fool if I asked!
Look, this is mine(not my car) Its a GM 3400 SFI Vee-sicks.
Question: On a RWD engine, is it more of a pain in the crack to work on? a FWD car you just reach in and deal with, its right there.

You want to talk Hight Tech? I just got my copy of BMW Magazine and there is an article in there about BMW's new TeleService.
Source: BMW Magazine, Issue 3-2004
Who but BMW Could Create a Car that Calls for Service on it's Own.
Imagine getting a call from your Service Advisor, saying, "Your car has notified us that it will neeed new brake linings within the next two months. When would you like to schedule an appointmentr and a loaner car?"
If you have a 2004 5 Series or 6 Series, don't be suprised when it happens-because both come with BMW's TeleService. This Revolutionary new feature uses wireless technology to connect your car's computer to BMW's computer network.
When your BMW senses that it will soon need an oil change, a new micro Filter, brake linings, or fluids, or various other wear items, BMW's unique TeleService feature automaticaly transmits this data to your prefered BMW center.
TeleService is also utilized whenever you call for Roadside Assistance or BMW Customer Relations. (In fact, did you know you can even request a service apppointment through your iDrive system? TeleService then relays all data to your Service Advisor.)
TeleService saves you time, as well. By alerting your Service Advisor exactly what work needs to be done, all replacement parts are ordered in advance, ready to be installed. And with BMW Full Maintenance now standard, most parts and labor are free of charge for 4 years/50,000 miles.
TeleService: one more reason why BMW remains a technological leader.
