2005 mustang GT 5 speed dropping rpm at idle sometimes dies.
I don't remember all the details of this thread, what has already been discussed and what has been done . . . but, you could contact "Lito" (Manuel Pazo) at support@tudyno.com; tell him about the issue and ask if a datalog and tune might fix it.

I would most definitely follow Burt's advice, as it could very well be a tune related issue. You may also want to consider checking your MAF sensor for any type of dirt or oily residue which can also lead to a fluctuating idle. I would also look into changing your fuel filter if it hasn't been addressed in quite sometime as well

well, I guess you can give up and junk it if you want . . . but just a few final thoughts/suggestions:
- who looked at what? did you datalog while the problem was happening, and did you capture the relevant sensors?
- if the issue does not show up on the relevant sensors, that's good information to have; it means the issue is caused by something else, likely something mechanical
- did you re-check the basics, like the MAF sensor and fuel filter?

I went to where I got it tuned last year in feb, MAF is reading and working properly. Fuel filter got recently replaced not even a month ago. It just doesn’t make any sense when they data logged it in their computer they said it seems like it’s all running as it should.
yeah I understand it is very frustrating, I am pretty much out of suggestions at this point . . . I am wondering if it might have something to do with the cams; don't remember if that was already discussed; but they do need some maintenance over time for things like the chain guides and the positioning solenoids/sensors and I wonder if something might be loose and flaky in there

So... I was thinkin' on this after seein' it again in the new posts list... I have these video for you to watch, considering you're taking it to the Ford place.

This guy is amazing. You might be wonderin' 'hey, he's workin' on 5.4s, don't count!', but the truth is just about *every* problem the 5.4 has, the 4.6 could have. Timing, heads, coils, etc, ad nauseam is just about the exact same in every way except deck height is taller between the two. So what he does on the F150s (which people tend to pay him to save, rather than junk it or throw an engine in it) goes right into the 4.6 as good advice/things to test.
His 4 part 5.4 timing chain replacement videos are what I used to do my 4.6 timing with. Watched those, had the manual pages for torques and details, and got it done. It's really not that hard, once you see it, it's just... time consuming and those exhaust followers are silly fun to deal with. (Also, side note, the Chrysler crank pulley is required, save the old bolt, use it to get the pulley started, then put in an ARP bolt to stick that thing back on, but I digress.)
There's probably other related videos to this he might have done that you can look at. He's a fantastic resource.
I hope that helps!
