If the cover isn't offered, what about the idea of getting an aftermarket intake manifold to replace the black plastic one? Could add some horsepower too. Anyone know anything about where to get 'em, and how much?

The intake cover "Powered by Ford" would set off the engine compartment nicely. I want it.

I like the engine cover.

It would not make economic sense to offer the cover as a stand alone option so Ford should include it as part of the interior upgrade package.

But as long as it's available from Ford Racing I'd be happy it won't be any big deal to add it on myself.
Why?
Offer it as a dealer installed option. Many car companies do this. ie. optional spoiler, different stereos. I mean for pete's sake some companies go as far as to offer locking lugs as an option. I dont see why this would be financially difficult. Dodge offers the new SRT-4 with the option to have a powder coated Intake manifold. Ford could do it. And I believe it would be a pretty commonly selected option, so it could be incredibly profitable.

I'm just glad so many participated in the POLL in favor of it... I hope that when my '05 Mustang GT is finally delivered, I'll be able to pop the hood and see it already installed.

Like Ford, for example, on the 2005 Mustang no less .

I like it, but will remove it to put a after market intake or a custom intake. but if I were to show the car I would want it, so i say to Ford lets put on there.

I have to agree. It looks ugly without it. They at least need to make the intakes aluminum colored.

Including Ford. Locking lugs are Order Code #17L on the '05 Mustang.
