I definitely want one... no wait... make that two . I like it for two reasons; First cleans up that functional but uuugly intake.
Second 4 quik twists of a speed wrench and its off! (though I can't find many reasons to take it off).

You know what, I've seen a few post talking about a no cost option for this. Me I'd pay an extra couple of hundred to get this and the kick plates. Maybe ford could add it as an additional option. youre talkin 200 bucks onto a car that is going to start over 25K so you know by the time you've got the options you want you'll be paying over 26K. the two extra bills wont make a bit of difference in your payments.
Anyway, The engine must have this cover! The black ABS plastic looks way cheap. For the longest time I remember stangs having 5.0, or the horse or 289 or whatever on the Intake mani/carb cover. If they dont offer it, I'll have to find someone who does!

I could hook some of u up with another Mustang Emblem.

My dad works for a Viseton plant nearby and they make Mustang Emblems. I have two of them covering the tranny hump in my Lincoln. I also have a third one for usage to open up the butterfly valve in my TBI. The forth one I have I was seriously considering taping to my hood ornament.

If there are any Ford folks out there reading these threads...... My wish list would include a very dark tinted window in the rear. With all that glass the UV's will do a number on my new leather seats. Just someting else to consider.

Wow am I in the minority here. I couldn't care less if the engine had the cover. Yes, it looks nice, but it's just a useless piece of plastic that could end up being a rattle source. For those who want it, I do hope that it will be available in the aftermarket at a reasonable (cheap) price for you.
One more negative comment like that one about the cover and you will be TERMINATED....

The fuel rails are the ones on top of the valve covers. That big line over the manifold looks like the main fuel line. I very well could be wrong.

It is the fuel line. As previously mentioned, it will be positioned lower for production. That will ensure the intake cover fits.

I think it should be there. A while back on BON there was an article about how J Mays wants to bring back emblems that are directly related to products, like the prancing horse, the thunderbird logo, etc... He was really digging how much publicitiy and positive attentione DCX was getting with their Hemi badging. There was a memo within ford to start this up again, and it listed that the Explorer, Escape, and 500 were on the list to get these names. I think they should do this with the 4.6 from the 05. Make it the mustang engine and bolt on some kind of emblem that shows this. It would be kinda cool to buy a F-150 and have it say mustang engine or something. Ford played around with this on the "Ford 49" concept. The emblem on the front fender was a sillhouette af the thunderbird logo, with the words, "powered by" punched into it. This was a totally cool little decal that made it feel that much cooler. People with these new hemi cars feel cool knowing their car says hemi. I think, the least ford could do would be to offer this kind of decal under the hood for those of us who look at these things. Why does ford have to be pressured into such minimalist, easy to understand, desired decisions????
didnt read all the other posts yet. so if this is a repeat sorry. how about like in the 60's they had all the Cobra Jet Powered cars???????? i could dig a Cobra Jet Powered AWD Ford 500

I'd paint mine to match my car's color (except a black car would get silver or something), as the rest of the engine bay would eventually be the car's color also.

I like the engine cover.

It would not make economic sense to offer the cover as a stand alone option so Ford should include it as part of the interior upgrade package.

But as long as it's available from Ford Racing I'd be happy it won't be any big deal to add it on myself.

Simular here... Althought the first Stang ('94 GT) had to be returned 2 day later due to insurance rate -I figured buying the car in my fathers name and insuring it under his policy w/ me as an occasional driver would have been a heck of lot less than the $8k+ annual premium Erie required

I have since purchased 4 Jeeps (3 new, 1 used) & a new Saturn. Now that I'm married, over 25 and have had a pretty clean driving record for over 10yrs *knock on wood*, I'm ready to purchase a new Mustang GT. I tend to show loyalty to Companies that listen to their customers - I think the past few Jeeps alone is a good example of that. -not to mention my Dell computers, Sony products, etc.

so... Ford, pleease listen when I say "I want the engine(manifold) cover that says powered by Ford with the galloping horse on it".

Sincerly,

Kahdir
