99-04 head and intake swap is your best bet like others said.

Maybe even get some from junkyard or someone parting out a totaled car.

This. You will see MINOR gains from the other mods mentioned but this is what you really should do. First thing.

He will see close to 40-50 hp by doing a pi swap. The only difference between 99-04 and his is the pi setup. If he does that, he will see gains close to a stock 99-04 gt.

If it was me, I would buy a 96-98 and do that swap, a lot cheaper then buying a 99-04.

My 2000 gt with low miles was fairly cheap and its in awesome condition and was bone stock.

What I'm saying, is you can find a 96-98 gt for under 5k, pi swap and your close to yours. For me, it would be cheaper doing that.

From what I have seen and heard the pi swap is not a simple one. Along with the heads intake you have to buy gaskets special tools and a tuner is recommended

I swapped the heads out on my 00gt not to bad of a job and I didn't need the special tools altho I am sure it would have been a little eaiser with them. I picked the rebuilt heads up from a ebay seller which does only heads. I will try to find them, I believe they were out of NY they were 600 bucks. You might save a few bucks getting them from a bone yard but they will not be like new rebuilt heads. try to find some rebuilt heads over some bone yard units.

I know I'm just giving you a hard time. I personally like the body style of the sn95 over the newedge. And if I would have known more about the pi swap I would have gotten a sn95 and probably saved some money like you said.

That is the advantage of having mechanical skills, sadly I do not have such skills
