If anyone happens to come across a ‘71 Mustang as killer as this one, be sure to let us know. It’s not that we don’t think there are any out there, we’ve certainly seen one or two contenders, it’s just that right now we’re completely engulfed in this one.

This custom Mustang is the handiwork of fabricator Lyle Vass. It actually started out as a discouraging purchase when the restorer realized the car was missing most of the metal from its quarters, floor, and cowl.

However, rather than beat himself up about the misfortune, Vass went to work crafting a more sinister looking Mach 1. He started by raising the car’s front crossmember an inch, then fabricating flat floors the same distance higher. Other unique design features include eliminating the seam from the fenders to the chin panel, essentially making the nose one-piece, as well as Mustang hood locks integrated as part of the car’s original design.

There’s a whole lot more that went into crafting this breathtaking machine that makes the story well worth the full read over at Mustang 360. So head on over there, then let us know what you think!
