Mustang girl - New to Mustang Source
Hello everyone,
I live in So Cal and I have 2 Mustangs.
Mustang #1 is a 1995 Mustang GTS 5.0 (yellow) and it is my baby. I am the first and only owner (special ordered from the factory to my door). As a single working mom I drove it every single day for over 20 years and finally the clutch was just getting to be too much for me in gridlock (after I lost 2nd gear LOL) so I retired her to my driveway. There are no after-market parts and everything is original. In CA you cannot renew your registration without passing a smog and unfortunately I could not pass a smog without 2nd gear.
Mustang #2 is a 2013 Mustang V6 with ecoboost (black). I bought it in 2015 from the dealer with very low mileage. Recently, the transmission started slipping after I had to hit the brakes really hard. It got worse and worse and I finally took it in for a rebuild. Six thousand dollars and six months later, the same thing is happening.
My brother has a Ford Raptor and had the same issue with his transmission. He discovered a recall on the programming (lead frame?) and there's an issue with a solenoid in the valve body. Now the fun begins when I take my car back to the mechanic who told me it was the transmission and try to figure out how to fix it AND get my $6k back. Any advice? Has anyone had issues with their transmission going out after hard stops?
