Dog Bark Park Inn, Cottonwood, Idaho
Travelers staying at this place, 200 miles north of Boise, aren't worried to be in this doghouse. The giant dog B&B entertains guests looking for a barking good time and some tail-wagging fun. The owners even gave the giant beagle a nickname: "Sweet *****." You can stay a loft room located in the pooch's head --and of course, pets are welcome. "A noble and absurd undertaking - made with love and care - Sweet ***** was fun, silly and cozy," said a TripAdvisor traveler

I was petting Kiska, our almost 14year old Shiba, and she was about to sneeze, so I backed my knee away from her because I didn't want her to hurt her all of 5-6 teeth that she has left - she stopped for a second like her sneeze went away, and then sneezed SUPER hard and smacked her snout right on my knee, and I heard a tooth go flying across the kitchen floor - she knocked out one of her top fangs. I literally almost cried because of the face she made. She didn't yelp but ugh I'm so shaken up now. It's bad enough to see her with like no teeth, and now I just knocked another one out.

She's 14 and you don't know by now that you have to wait for it?! I made the mistake of letting my dog sniff my face when I got home one evening (does it every day) and he started to sneeze. I pulled back, and he stopped. I moved forward again and got a face full of dog snot.

Wait for the sneeze!

Haha I know her sneezes! It was an extra extended pause. It literally broke my heart. She seems okay today, and even ate her food, but I had nightmares, didn't sleep all night

I swear, I just want to get a Husky because it would be cool to listen to it talk.

/But me and pets aren't a good mix, 'cause life. Still want one though.
//Fish don't even have a chance at surviving around me and my goofy schedule..

Such a sweet little guy. We had animal control pick him up. Didn't know if he was abandoned or if he belonged to someone.

Good to hear from you! Yeah, there's no way my dog would be that happy in the water. He'd hate me.

Just got back from a trip out for one of my nephew's birthday. Afterwards, my bro and his family went to the Petsmart (side note... his son [different nephew] just *had* to go ride with unca houtex and his car. And then his sister says 'me too', so I rammed about the streets for a couple of minutes, then we got to the Petsmart.)

Anyway, that story is to set up this one... I am looking at fish, potentially for myself, as I can't keep animals... even fish might be a little asking of my abilities and times, just the way it is sometimes. Bro's daughter is thinking a fish as well, and I get to talk to her at length about a bowl, a goldfish, some rocks... the easiest fish to try first. It was a good day for me an the bro's kids, really.

So Petsmart always has dogs and cats ready for adoption/fostering. I found a cat that was pretty cool to me, but it'd have to be declawed, sorry. And I think it would not be a good cat like that... but this is a dog thread.

As we were leaving... there is a young chihuahua mix that is there... it looks like our family's dog Spirit (long since departed this mortal coil). A little different, but similar....

I had picked up another puppy that sorta reminded me of our Daisy dog (Dachshund/Lab mix, smartest dog EVAR. No, yours doesn't come close, sorry, even Lassie was an idiot compared to Daisy) but it was a male. Nope.

My brother pointed out how similar this other dog was to Spirit... and she was. lil' different from in her head face, but very similar...

Oh...

Ok, I sat down in the store next to the cage she's in.. opened it up... got her out.

What a sweetie. Just as gentle as can be. Poor thing was hit by a car and barely survived the event... and there she was... her name is Minuet... And knows it's her name... and is good with the kids. And felt sorta nice all cuddled up with me, in my arms.

What a softie I am.

Anyway, just held her for a minute or two... and realized I can't. I just... can't.

So I, fairly reluctantly, opened her door, and put her inside the cage again.

Sigh...

Still thinking about gettin' her and surprising my mom with her, but... that wouldn't be a good idea.

Spirit was a good dog. Had a bit of a children issue, but we just kept her away from 'em. And she rode motorcycles.

Heartstrings, people. Heartstrings.

One day, I'll be havin' a dog again.

Just thought I'd say. Laters all.
