We just started our road trip that will end in Gallup, NM. Computer thingy showed 26.1 after going over the Smokey Mountains into Nashville. Now that ain't half bad for a 400hp V8 engine hooked to an automatic tranny. And the comments on the car just makes one smile.

Disclaimer. For the purest. I know the thingy ain't absolutely on the nose. But, it's close enough for me.

You sure you don't want to go a little further into AZ?? That Cool Springs Station photo op awaits you between Kingman and Oatman on Rte 66.
Exciting times! Have a continued safe journey.

Thanks my NC brother. Wish we could, but it's not in the cards for this trip. Sitgreves Pass is one of the best rides of Route 66. We have done it in our plastic car, and even at 97 degrees it was still nice with the top down. But, when we got to the strip of desert in Cali before Needles it was 108 degrees top up time.

Thank you.

The wheels are the 50th anniversary 20" Shelby Alcoa wheels. The tires are Nitto Invos; 275 in front & 295 in back. They are great all-weather tires.

Thought I would report in on the road trip. At a bit over 2000 miles into the trip the car is preforming flawlessly. With the last many miles being on Route 66, with a bunch of stop and go it's at 24.6 on the compooter thingy. I'm not trying for mpg's, just enjoying the car. The weather is perfect for top down driving. I'm in Albuquerque for a few days, and then on to Gallup before we turn around.

BTW, the car is dirtier than it's ever been. Driving me crazy.

I would post a pic, but this damnable compooter is screwed up.
