*Updated* Arin's Uber "76" Mustang II Buildup
$1379 plus free shipping! yes near 1400 is a lot of money, but not bad compared to head cost in general.

Oh yeah, I know they aren't bad compared to other heads, its just heads are alot. I just need to find a way to make that money.
I'll stick some of the old II parts on ebay later this week I think. That should be good for couple hundred. The old carb'd intake, carb, carb spacer, fan(s) (i might just go electric), old heads, 2 sets of useless valve covers, original II grille, turn signals...
but thats not nearly the amount I would need. I could also sell some airsofts I don't use, as well as one of my real guns that I hardly shoot.. Thats about $500 right there

I'm also wondering wether a 58cc combustion chamber is good for my motor if I plan on supercharging it. I don't want the C/R to rise to high. The CR will rise to 9.65:1. is that still safe to boost?
I didn't plan on more than like 8psi, with 10psi as my max i would ever run

I think you will be fine with 8 lbs of boost, and one thing to note, with the amount of airflow the afrs have you can prob run 5-6 lbs and make as much power as 8lbs on stock heads. any amount of volumetric efficency you add N/A will help the car make so much more on boost, so good flowing intake and exhaust 8 psi will make crazy power and 6 will make as much as you would need/want.
1 more thing, people SC 99 cobras to 8-10 psi and those run 9.9:1 stock.

That is good to know.I don't have plans for an intake just yet, I'll be using the stockers until I can afford better. The reason I figured heads first is that I'm probably not going to have them off again, and it would be a pain in the *** to get an aftermarket intake, and then remove it later to put on the new heads.
When I get my new intake, I'll JUST be swapping the intake, nothing else.
I also couldnt find a decent EGR plate in the yard, I might have to get an aftermarket TB/EGR combo just to get it out of the way

Supposedly they are some of the best to use on the stock cam because they don't require more lift. I'm sure the heads would benefit from a beefier cam, but I don't think I'll need one
this is one of the threads I was looking at
http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...afr-165-a.html
I'm leaving the lifters alone, getting hardened pushrods (because AFR says I should use them, and I've read some posts from people who didn't and seriously ruined their motors) and 1.7 roller rockers.

I've been lurking and didn't know if you had seen this so I thought I would post. I think it is a little more than what you were talking about spending though.

As for making this money back, I made up a list of everything I have that I don't need that I could sell for this project. It's a pretty big list
We'll see how well this goes
That would be a nice package if I had the cash to spring for it. Still, I really think the AFR heads are the best heads to get. but thanks for the heads up
Much appreciated
