I agree. IMO, four years is much too tong. I get the feeling that this is an inside joke?

Kind of, but not really.
He doesn't drive his car much, but it's a '19 Roush Stage 3 running original oil and filter, because he's not at mileage yet.
Discussed in his thread about the car several times.

I missed the threads that said no oil changes are good for a car.

I buy Mobil 1 on sale at WalMart and change it at least every two years.. I live in the south in a semi-warm climate. JMHO as a car guy.

Lol, yeah,, I'm in NC and change the Mustangs' oil every spring, same as I did up in NH.
They still don't get driven more than a couple thousand miles a year, so once a year is perfect.

It's all good. I have 6000 miles on a stock 2019 Mustang GT350. i tend to wait a little over a year. I did buy new tires.

You have two highly modified cars that sure need more maintenance. How many hard miles do you have on each car? What tires do you have on both cars? Do you race them?

The Shelby is just under 80k, the GT just under 57k.
We enjoy them but don't race them. Certainly not for a few years now. Last time we autocrossed them was over 5 years ago, and we decided they're really not great for that, so we won't again. And I think neither one has seen a drag strip in over 8 years.
We run drag radials currently, but on my GT I'll probably switch to a good summer tire next year.
They're both due for new tires, just due to age, they're about 8 years old, but that's not in the budget for this year.

There's much better choices in oil, especially if you're gonna change it every 5 years

Lol, yes. Need to do some better research.
Mobil 1 is a fake synthetic. They're getting by on their advertising and people's memories of them being a good oil once.

When I had my Charger, I tried Mobil 1 for one oil change. It was the only time that engine used up 2-3 quarts of oil during the 6,000 miles it was in there.
Switched to a different oil after that, my oil consumption went away.
I swore I'd never use Mobil 1 after that.
I only use Amsoil. I buy it as a Preferred Customer directly from them, it's almost dealer-level pricing (I know this since I was a dealer for a while), but on a PC account they do free shipping on orders over $100, which is always the case for me since I always order for more than 1 car at once (easy to do when you have to maintain 4 cars, lol)

Also, lots of Coyote owners complain about an engine tick.
Using Amsoil I've never heard any ticking out of this engine.

Just An FYI, When You go to The Dealer For an Oil Change and Think You Are Getting Ford Oil Guess Again!{ Most Times it's Not!} Some Few Have it in Bulk. If you Want The Ford Oil You Need To Specify You Want The Bottled Ford Oil Out of the Parts Department. I run the FULL Synthetic Ford Oil in the Shelby Along With The Genuine Ford Racing Filter. I use The Synthetic Blend With a Motorcraft Filter in Everything Else! For Those Guests That Can't See My Sig I Worked at Ford dealers Over 30+ Years! So I Know!

I'm just messing with you man.
They're all good. I'm going to keep using the Mobil 1 synthetic. Been using it for years and years and years. The little red beast has a brand specific with Quaker State oil.

Manufacturers will routinely put "X brand recommended", since they'll get a kickback from that manufacturer for the sticker.
Ford used to have something on their gas caps recommending BP gasoline.
Our VW says Castrol oil.
I used Castrol once just cuz the local dealer had it. I've also used OEM VW oil, Liqui-Moli, and now Amsoil.
No issues with any of them, but since I get the pricing I get on Amsoil, I'll continue with that.

Mgb,

Actually, it was 2006 when the BP Logo first appeared... My "06" GT has the BP logo on the gas cap.

I can't remember if it was in the manual or on the gas door on my 2010 but it was there and then the Deepwater Horizon happened and Ford quit doing it
I did drive my Mustang 550 miles today to go look at a Kenworth we bought in Wedowee Alabama
